[Proposal 7] Game pauses after the current proposals have been implemented, at which point we'll determine the design of the fortress proper in committee or something.

In either case, I will start playing after I do 2 things:

Play a few hours on the other succession fort and see if I can finish. (It's as if I'm plying at 10 seasons = a year, not 4 seasons = a year)

And 2: Find a good svn. (Any suggestions? Not tortoise svn, or subcommander, or rapidsvn. I'm using windows btw.)(I have been googling...)

ETA: I'll be started in around 3-4 hours.

I know my votes don't count yet, but I vote no to prop 7.

[prop 8]
I think the mayor should have the power to decide the fort layout.

Only in certain cases should the council intervene.

I say NAY to proposal 0008.

[Proposal 0009]

The mayor should appoint an advisor for things such as military, crafting, farming etc. which he will consult on matters of fortress layout.

HOWEVER, the mayor shall have full control of fortress layout for the first year. This will keep him from being tied up in bureaucracy when he needs to be securing our position from danger.

So 1 no to 8...

What do the others say?

I think better of 09, but I still say it's tied too deeply with politics.

[Revision to prop 8]
Maybe if the council says "You can use this are.
Don't use rooms smaller than blah blah blah.
Don't use rooms bigger than blah blah blah."

I vote No to [Proposal 0008] and No to [Proposal 0009]; the game is paused so  the're no danger in voting the layout. Also, the first year's layout strongly defines the layout from then on.

I'm not technically a citizen yet, but just for clarification: Amendments act like proposals that only pass if they receive a majority vote AND their relevant proposal also passes, correct?

I still think that the whole fortress should be flooded with magma the moment you try dividing by zero.
This could be a handy way of teaching preschool children mathematics.

No, amendments are treated as a new proposal entirely.

No, amendments are treated as a new proposal entirely.
Wouldn't that raise the possibility of an amendment passing despite the failure of it's attached proposal?
EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized that would require someone voting for an amendment and against the main proposal, which would be silly.
