Cat jokes = Getting old

Seriously, whenever anyone on this forum mentions anything related to a cat, be it real life, dwarven, or hypothetical, why is it that at least half of the resulting posts will be something related to killing it? I get that 'catsplosion' is apparently bad for your forts (mind you, I've never had the slightest problem with it, even letting them run free), but it is really quite impolite to suggest that one kill a beloved pet. Suggestions that I myself am deserving of death for being cat-like are interesting. Happily, I'm confident in my ability to defend myself, but I'm sure that other forum goers wouldn't be as pleased with it.

So, can we keep the fantastic racism against cats out of the real life section a bit more? Please?

Worse yet just today someone derailed the Future of the Fort JUST to revive the Cat jokes that happened earlier.

So they are beyond Old... they are entering overused...

Over-used jokes are best ignored. They linger because nobody has anything better to say, so all you need to do is give people something better to talk about.

DF has a lot of overused jokes associated with it.

Usually it's fine just to ignore them, but sometimes they actually get in the way of discussion.

The use of cat jokes are usually unfunny or too technical (Just like Pahntom's posts) I say we just ignore them

I've never had problems with cats myself.  That's why I don't joke about.  Same as Boatmurdered really.

Dunno, I see them kinda like priest and rabi jokes. You can make some damn funny jokes with them, but just saying "the priest is a pedo and the rabi is greedy" doesn't make for much of a joke.

Because elves are not a source of philosophical debate. They are sworn enemies due to the "nature" of their practices. They are impractical communistic hippies who whine about the Dwarven communistic-industrialism. They have no useful trade goods to contribute, except wood. But they bring less wood when you more chop wood! Those spiteful Hippie bastards seek to control and leer over the Dwarven populace. Also, they are taller than us. That is why they must die. Unless you desperately need that wood.
