Yeah, I really like this game.
I look forward to it.

Would it be okay if I post a rivaling strategy game on here?
Because I had an idea for a game about 2 to 3 years ago.
It might need some testing on here, before I learn to program and actually make it.

Thanks :)
And as long as you do it in another topic, post as many rival games as you want. It's not like I could stop you, even if I would want to ;) .

You might want to balance a little.
At the beginning everything needed so much scrap, and now they can produce rifles from 4 scrap?
Seems that scrap is pretty much everything other than food and water?
Expect praise, for such an idea. I love it because it reminds me of alphaman.

You're right, the rifles should cost a little more. I'll fix it.
And scrap is, well, everything that isn't worth describing and can be used to craft stuff. Mostly metal components. I'm not going to add more resources, it's a lot of work to keep track of everything as it is already.

Populus of Palus

Have All scientists plant all the seeds
refine all ore using 5 craftsman
build a pipeline to the SMA base with 10 craftsmen
have 54 miners dig out spAce for a laboratory east of the hydroponics Area.

Survivors of Mossena Arcade

"Redshirt 1, why!" Inteuniso cried as he smashed his hands on his small, plastic command table. After the loss of 5 people, he was starting to lose the confidence of his bunker. Worse yet, he was losing valuable manpower that could be used to find other survivors besides these... raiders. He would need a lab for the scientists, and more weapons to combat raiders, giant wolves, and whatever else was out there waiting for them. His southern expedition plan was forming up nicely. He already had support from the other two bunkers, and he himself had supplies and weaponry for the chosen he was sending. It would not be a big expedition, but it would be an extremely well-equipped one. Also, He had heard reports of refining mined ore, something he had not considered and really should have. It would be helpful for any turrets he wished to build, and any other fantastic contraptions he thought of.

Have 5 of my crafters build the laboratory. Make sure not to damage any of the precious lab equipment!

Have 6 crafters make Mossena ammo, and Mossena rifles, that use the same clips and ammo that the pistols use.

Have 4 crafters make just coil rifle ammo.

Have 10 scientists begin to figure out how to synthetically generate materials using a handy-dandy T1 rip-off.

Have 5 scientists research. They have their lab, use it.

Have the last 5 scientists search for water. Aquifers, rivers, anything. Take a 2 man miner escort with them, both of them carrying coil rifles.

Have the 50 miners carve out a 3-tile hallway to the south of storage, and then begin digging a 4x3 room.

Have 3 miners and 14 traders start gathering berries and other plant-able objects. Once finished, plant any of them in the farm plot. Have the 3 miners and 1 trader carry the pistols, one clip each.

Torir Hegemony

1 miner will man the drill and continue mining aluminum.

20 scientists and 5 craftsmen will continue working with the gun. I want the same knowledge from last turn, and I want it working.

15 craftsmen will fix the wrecked car up with an electric motor. Hopefully there will be time to armor it and give it a mount for a weapon.

4 miners will stand guard with the best weapons available.

40 miners will look for metal veins nearby, outside the bunker.

I added random events this turn. I won't do that every turn, only when I feel like it. You all got positive rolls on your random events this time, some more than others, but they can be everything. It might make the game less fair if someone has a screwed-up random event roll, though it certainly makes it more interesting.

Sweet! Composite materials are mine!
...And now for some RP

MILITARY ROSTER:
Sgt. Julian "Hard-Ass (Obviously not to his face)" Fitzgerald, Former Military Instructor of the 128th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, Miner
Pvt. Jun-Sing "JS" Rockwell, Former Martian Diplomat, Trader
Pvt. Kole "Train" Mannit, Former Bartender, Former High-school Football Player, Trader
Pvt. Salima "Sal" Christensen, Former HR Representative for Marksman Industries, Trader
Pvt. Jonathon "Jake" Johnson, Former Used Car Salesman, Trader (Broken Nose)
Pvt. Matthew "Doc" McGinnis, Former Nurse, Trader, Squad Medic
Pvt. Elizabeth "Liz" Matherson, Former Foundry-worker, Miner

Have the Former Military Instructor run 5 traders and a miner through basic calisthenics, weapon safety, and basic weapon firing courses. When targets are finished, begin instruction of firing at targets. Use the 2 Bolt-Action (which is what the manuals are, right?) Rifles and 2 pistols, and have them train on both weapons. This will take multiple turns.

Have 1 trader who is designated as squad medic run through basic anatomy and first aid courses with 3 scientists. This will also take multiple turns.

Have 50 miners dig out a 4x3 room at the end of the hallway. I would like it to be 3 columns and 4 rows.

Have 10 scientists begin to research in the lab.

Have 7 scientists run 5 craftsmen through a basic tutorial with the plastics fabricator. Have 10 traders gather wood to be used in it.

Have 5 crafters cook the giant wolf corpse in the kitchen. Use gloves.

Have the final 5 craftsmen build a basic pumping system from the underground stream.

Have 3 miners head south a bit and collect scrap. Go equipped with coil rifles and 2 pistols.

I'm pretty sure I used all my people. It was a pretty long-winded turn.

Eagle, why do you keep implying that we're going to have to kill each other at some point? It makes me nervous.

Torir Hegemony

5 farmers will plow more fields.

5 crafters will mount the machine gun on the buggy.

15 crafters will make machine gun ammo out of iron ore.

10 scientists will try to design an improved small electric motor.

10 scientists will research a way to build sensors on the bunker. I'd like to be able to detect raiders early enough for everybody to grab a gun.

6 miners will stand guard over the bunker, with one gun and five crossbows.

6 miners will search for the missing miner with one gun and five crossbows.

All remaining miners will dig outside for more ore. They'll take the normal bows with them. They will remain in groups, with at least two bows per group.

My diplomats will search for seeds. I'd like the kind that take a week to grow, but give more food overall.

You keep mentioning that randomness might be ruining the balance. If we're working together for a common goal, a beneficial thing for one player is good for us all.

You're right, I should stop repeating myself, but I just mean that, even if you work together, a player with less luck and resources might somehow feel useless. I'm certainly not trying to imply that you will have to face each other one day.

20 scientists will try to re-create a computer, with a fairly easy to use OS.

So... you want to make a computer... out of scrap metal... without any silicon at all, nor vacuum tubes, nor semiconductors, as well as an OS? I admit, this game has been unbalanced, but seriously dude, that sounds fucking impossible with the resources we have right now. I admit, some things that have happened have been a bit... unbelievable (Making another coil rifle out of scrap, Designing and building a trike with photovoltaic cells, etc.) but that can be fixed. We need a new rule.

For every complex piece of machinery/weaponry/building that isn't studied beforehand and is used/built, there should be a severe penalty to die-roll and severe consequences no matter what. Any new designs will need a blueprint, refined materials, and whatever else they would need.

Example: I have my crafters build a helicopter with a dual-rotor design.

Now not only should this fail pretty much automatically due to my crafters lack of knowledge about making a dual-rotor Helicopter, the fact is that it couldn't be made just out of scrap. I would have to design a motor that is light enough or powerful enough, use lightweight composite materials instead of scrap, and if I even built the thing, it would be crashed almost immediately due to my lack of electronics software or having a pilot.

I won't mind getting nerfed if it means that we can't build futuristic machines out of nothing. I was planning on building a Mechanical exoskeleton, but I would need access to a computer, a computer programmer, the ability to build hydraulics, use plastics and aluminum, and have a test pilot crazy enough to get into the death tra- invention.

This is just my idea. But I would prefer it we can't build lasers and atomic bombs out of old siding and pipes.

Populus of Palus

Train 5 miners to be geologists by using 5 scientists.
Have 54 miners go out and scout the surrounding area, with pipes and 2 by 4s, etc. Even if it costs me some scrap to arm them.
Have 14 scientists plant all available seeds if there are any left
Have 14 crafters refine all available ore.
