Wouldn't it make sense to force all the tourists to pay some kind of an insurance fee for that? Most of them don't get lost, so it should cover the costs of the few that do.

Because then those safe tourists get pissed that they're the one's footing the bill for other people's idiocy.

Insurance is a sticky issue like that.  Suffice to say that when it comes to intentionally getting yourself into hazardous situations like being stuck on a mountain, it's your own damn fault if you get lost so I think you should be ready to pay if you can't hack your way back out.

Yeah, but the cost is so high you end up being a virtual serf. You'd have to give everything you earn to them for the rest of your life, and you'd probably leave your kids a massive debt as well. I'm not sure it's preferable to death.

Uh...  Well for one thing, the United States doesn't honor the medieval notion of debt inheritance, so if you die impoverished that debt just becomes the bank's problem, not your family's.  As for whether it'd be worse than death, hey that's your own decision.  Don't do dangerous shit like climb mountains, and if you do, do a better a job of killing yourself next time.

Erm. No. Man Vs Wild should NOT have a disclaimer for Entertainment, since IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE AN ENTERTAINMENT SHOW.

The key difference between the shows are:

Man Vs Wild: Bear Grylls is showing you some techniques to survive in a particular wilderness, if you were lost.

Survivor Man: Les Stroud escapes from a particular wilderness, filming how he survives along the way (along with explaining how to do it.)

The difference? Man Vs Wild can cover a broader range of topics in surviving, since some of the stunts are set up.

Quote from: Hippoman
Cept the man vs. Wild guy is more certified.
He's a trained navy seal and such.

Les Stroud is a trained survivalist who spent a year in the wilderness making shit from scratch, using no metals or plastics. Bear Grylls is Hardcore, but he isn't more certified.

Also do you know anything about Bear Grylls? He was in the fucking British SAS, the forerunner to most modern commando units, including the Navy Seals. They're much much 'better' than Navy Seals.

He's never been in the Navy Seals.
Yep, that's what it was, SAS.

I can't stand australians. They're always so god damn cocky.

Look for these shows on COYOTE, UNP and ABE networks for the next season!

-Extreme surgical makeover!

-Exploding Jobs

-ENIGMA

-Politi-Hammer

-Walmart Moments

Only Enigma has ANY semblence of not being horrible assuming it was done right (chances are however... it won't be done right.)

Politihammer and Walmart Moments seem like heavy Doses of Propaganda... oddly enough Walmart moments seems like the most popaganda filled thing ever.

They are likely trying to Americanise Walmart to draw people's attention away from their Tax-schemes, low pay, Union Stomping, and a bunch of other stuff I can't believe anyone could get away with.

Or (though the description seems to say otherwise) do the exact opposite, in which case that is awsome!

That's cuz Walmart needs to cover up the fact that their death rate of customers. is higher than 0%.

I can't stand australians. They're always so god damn cocky.

I can't stand Minnesotans. They always make wide generalisations that have no merit.

*stuff*
It was a joke. It was a really quite extremely obvious joke.

Because, as we all know, 5 people you know are a great basis for deciding upon a whole country of 21,374,000 people.
