Shoot the officers tent.

Once again, reaction gauging here.

...well, the battle for the fortress appears to be lost, pretty much. Retreating might be in order. If you stay on the open field you just leave yourselves easy prey.

What about the hostage?! Or is he in a different tent?

...you know, I'm AIMING for that tent. As for the hostage, well, I would only hit him if I got a spectacularily bad roll, and it will startle the opponent in any case.

Alright, well... random.org seems to be having technical difficulties, and since I lack any dice of my own, this turn will have to wait.

I'll roll for you. I'm admittedly biased, but I'll be fair. I have two boxes of dice.
Alternatively, there are immense amounts of others. It's not like pseudorandoms are that bad anyway for a turn or two.

Thank you, but I prefer to roll my own dice.

Turn 24: We need a miracle...

Create a cunning plan by which to escape.
The officer takes your radio back and then leaves you alone. You try and figure out how to escape. (8) You can't come up with any plan, and even if you did get your bonds off you don't think you would be able to make it very far unless you had some help.

I will continue with my guerrilla tactics and try to take out the new gunners in the enemy camp.
You sneak up near the artillery and ambush the gunners. (14+3) You fire three well-placed shots, hitting killing one of the gunners and wounding two so bad they can't fire anymore. The sentries in the camp take note of their fallen comrades and rush towards your position.

+7 to Pistols

"I hate my life."

I try and locate some comrades, I don't wanna be left by myself with all the mooks!
You run away from the destroyed gun and try to find some allies. (13) It seems most, if not all of your fellow mercenaries have moved into the forest. There are several groups of soldiers attempting to guard the fortress nearby, but they seem to be fighting a losing battle.

\
Meanwhile I will order the Mercenary squad to actually help me this time and take some shots at the enemy troops before retreating into the forest.
You shoot at another one of the enemy soldiers. (13+1) You hit and kill one of the two remaining missile launchers.

+4 to Rifles.

Shoot the officers tent.
You shoot at the officer's tent. (10+2) You hit and the bullet tears right through. Nobody seems to be injured, and the sentries continue advancing towards you and Alexi.

+1 to Rifles

You decide to do absolutely nothing. (7) You continue sleeping.

Quote from: Mercenary Grunts
Kill Them
The squad fires another round at the attackers. (5) They kill three of the attackers.
Quote from: Fortress Guard
Don't let them take the fort!
Though outnumbered, the fortress guard continues to try and defend against the invaders. {16} Three of the attackers are killed and 7 are wounded.

Quote from: Enemy Attackers
Get to the fortress!
Ignoring the mercenaries in the forest, the invaders continue pushing towards the fortress. {12} Seven soldiers are killed.

Quote from: Enemy Ordinance
Get those bastards in the trees!
Swoosh! Another rocket is let loose, but this time it is in the opposite direction. (8) It hits one of the trees and explodes, but sends shrapnel and splinters everywhere. Two of the mercenaries are killed and one is wounded.

Quote from: Enemy Artillery
Attack the defenders!
With a huge gap in the fortress wall, the remaining gunner focuses on the troops instead. (16) The shot lands directly in the middle of one of the squads, killing five and injuring two.

Alright Errol, help me decide. Should I...

Switch to dual pistols and fire wildly into the oncoming enemy troops as we fall back into the trees.

or

Switch to dual pistols, sprint to the nearest piece of cover and open fire. ?

Move to the forest, try to do so without direct myself to fire. Should anything come by that isn't on my side, shoot!

I suspect you've never tried doing many illegal things yet in your game. The second the CCS knows you're "active", they'll come down on you like the hammer of God.

I don't believe in no-win scenarios.

Crawl under some sort of cover.

I need you to hold 'em off the one turn I take for leveling up my pistols skill. Then I'm gonna riddle them with lead. I don't need you dead. Don't be suicidal. Distract them, but be careful to have the defensive advantage. You have permission to flip the fuck out if there is a larger number of soldiers, like, five upwards coming. Then I'll say screw pistol training, it's SMG time.

Besides, I don't see how this is lost. Most of the attackers are wounded. If we get a bit lucky, we should hold them off. However, holding the fort will be difficult to say the least.

If we do manage to win we should leave the officer alive. He's gonna make for a very useful hostage.

I shall aim at the last gunner with my pistol and fire until further notice. Then head for cover.

Hey, mod. How many sentries are coming at us?
