I can't believe I didn't post here to insult my future, that is present, self.

Eh, better late than never.

Hey future me! Quit being such a fucking arsehole! Stop wasting your time on the internet and get to work!

I'll learn to play the guitar.

Somewhat.
Open chords. A lot of them.

I want to lose some weight and learn how to play the guitar.
Nope. I did neither.

Get to the US.
Make friends.
Get back on the path to my dreams.
Get a girlfriend.
Get healthy.
Rely on myself more.
Don't screw any relationships, especially not friendly ones.
And in general, become a happier person.
Well, go figure. I screwed the first thing up, screwed up (sorta) on the second one, all my close friends are people I met online.
I'm programming, but dear god that's a cheesy way of putting it on the third.
Fourth seems... unlikely at this point, due to, of all things, geography, so I didn't do that.

As for fifth... I was supposed to excercise with my brother lately, but we keep seeming to put that off.
Not a lot of places seem to offer crossfit, and I'm horrible at setting a workout for myself. I did get healthy for a while though, but that was this year, not last.

I still have very little that I can do except clean and make garlic bread and microwaved dinners, so no to being more self reliant

Screwed up some relationships in the meantime. Not keeping in touch seems to do that.
As for happier person... umm... I think I'm in a worse spot now than I was before, but I also have some friends online that I wouldn't give for the world? Not sure how well that fared.

I'm gonna make a chainmail belt, and get it approved to be worn at work.

Also, I'm going to make the best damn wine I have yet.

Furthermore, I'm going to ensure I never have to care whether I have air conditioning again. Mwa ha ha.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

We should probably have put '11 to '12 edition.

By the end of 2011:

-Update to DF2010 Nope.
-Read all the books I want to Working on it, still enjoying them.
-Maintain honours (in high school, no big deal) Don't know, not mark updates yet
-Expand my knowledge of science If constant acceleration equations count then Hell Yeas!
-Stop being tired all the time (I am 16, could I still be growing? I think so.) Still fucking tired.
-Write something that doesn't suck Meh, couple lame LPs, but no actual books.

Missed this one the first time around. Anyway, by the time this gets unlocked again I hope to have:

* Gained entry to the United States to be with my wife, preferably without any undignified hiding in the trunk of her car.
* Got a driver's license.
* Attempted home brewing.
* Bought a Land Rover Defender.
* Acquired a handgun.
* Got some more writing done.

In my experience it's usually my future self the one who would like to berate my past self.

In the past, I have been nicer. Logically, my future self must be an even bigger jerk and deserves it.

After a while your assholery just levels off, trust me. If you accept it it becomes funny again.

If you berate your past self, nothing changes.

At least this way, a year later, you're reading this and you're like 'Wow, past me has a point. Time to get a life!'
