I am getting a kick out of the semi-random executions

Or even better: have nobles but no Fortress Guard, Royal Guard, or Captain of the Guard, and violate a whole bunch of mandates so 90% of your fort ends up being dubbed criminals.  Then turn exactly one Dwarf (preferably one who has no criminal record but very high attributes) into a Fortress Guard or the Captain of the Guard.  Then sit back and watch the fun ensue.

I was thinking about modding it so Morul could be Captain of the Guard. I suspect he'd be the only dwarf alive after 2 years.

Something to do when the forum gets their hands on the final save.

The toll so far are three wounded guards in sparring accidents (serious wounds, too!), a female mason that was wounded and abed, yet that did not prevent her from being executed for not fullfilling a mandate, and a dead soldier, who got beaten to death by the guard for some reason (he couldnt have been sparring, as he was a crossbower)

The speed:0 fortress guards in my fort have been training for five years now.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Udil currently has the highest wrestling level, although the other guards are not close behind (one or two level differences).
Once he hits 200, I'm considering giving him some masterwork chain mail, plate mail, and a masterwork shield.

There are fifteen of both the royal and fortress guards, though the royal guard was founded much later than the fortress guard, so their levels are not as high.

Uhh... you do realize that skill doesn't matter past Legendary+5 right? Stats do, at least, there's a visible difference between Superdwarvenly Tough+5 and Superdwarvenly Tough+155, but skill doesn't add up past that.

I typically agree, though I did just lock my Tax Collector in his room until he died for mandating the past four main armorers of my fortress be put to death...

Speaking of which, how is fire in the new version?
out of personal experience, where a dwarf was set alight by a magmaman, ran up 150 flights of stairs, and divebombed into the booze stockpile, I'd have to say fire is the same as always.

Having a pit with lava and a thin bride over it in the training room is a must

That's only for non-military skills pertaining to % chance of masterpieces. As far as we know military skills still add to chance to block and hit past 20.
