Good. Like I said, this is my favorite mod for CivIV, I actually prefer it to the main game.

Finished the game I posted about earlier. Got aggressive with Embers for a bit, sieged a few of their cities, and destroyed them when I won. Then I sacked their capitol. Jonus was pissed, but gave me a free city and a crap-ton of gold when I offered him peace. The city they gave me originally belonged to the Winter Elves (Yes, I do know their names, but they are so ridiculously hard to spell I'm not going to bother trying. Be grateful I'm not just calling them the Seelie and UnSeelie Courts) so I decided to be a nice guy and give it back to them. Plus Viconia is pretty friggen hot, so I couldn't exactly resist.

Then I took my war to the summer Elves, who's main crime was attacking the Luichirp just as I was getting ready to do the same woo them. Then, just before I declared war, those pussy dwarven-wannabe's surrendered and became Elven vassals. Seriously, I was tempted to get the Khazad to ally with me to purge them. Anyway, I ended up splitting the Summer Elves Empire in half (including taking their biggest main cities, and Ygdrassil, bwahaha) while not touching any of the Luichirp's forces. Which was easy, because I don't think they ever sent any.  ;D I took away enough Elven power that the Dwarves(Bloody Gnomes) got out from being Vassals, and then when I offered the Summer Elves peace, they begged me to make them MY Vassals. MUHAHAHA!

Of course, that caused me to auto-declare war on the Winter Elves, which sucked because they had never given me trouble at all. It took forever before Viconia would calm down enough for me to offer her peace. And when she did, the fricken Summer Elves wouldn't let me give back one of her cities, that they had stolen in the intervening time. Bastards.

In the end, I managed to build the final Altar of the Luonnatar, and won that way. Was lots of fun, next time I think I'll play as the Khazad, and try to wipe out their sissy not-really-dwarven cousins.  ;D

Winter elves=Svartalfar?

And that game sounded fun. I don't normally play Marathon (I am an Epic guy myself).

##Update 4##(Click on images for larger versions)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We have met Valledia of the Amurites! They seem to be on the opposite side of The Lake and are no immediate threat. We did however, trade world maps. It seems that I have met all civilizations and have explored most of the map.

Loki is the one that made contact with the Amurites. I am using him right now as an invicible scout and he is going to explore the Grigori lands next, then come back home.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Now that we have met everybody, here is the diplomacy overview. As you can see, I have done most of the exploring. The Amurites and the Grigori are buddy-buddy. And everybody but Tasunke likes me.

I have agreed with Hannah to open borders. It seems that we both follow the Overlords and have much in common; she will come in handy.

Where we left off, I was amassing a force to retake Jubilee and defeat Orthus. I eventually had four Warriors and two Zealots. It wasn't much, but they were starting to make a drain on my early game economy. In fact, by the time my small force was outside Jubilee, my coffers were empty and my military was striking! I couldn't raise funds in any quick way and my military force was sapping my treasury. The next turn, I had a warrior disband because I was unable to pay him(In Civ, all military units incur a "maintenance" fee per turn. Since I had no money and no way to gain money, I could not afford said military). So I had my force attack Orthus, no matter how weak, and they were slaughtered. It was the only way to free up my economy and I took a chance that they would kill him.

Of course there's a reason this happened. I expanded to fast for my economy and had not been able to build cottages yet. I slowly recovered and was able to get research going again. I immediately switched to Education so that I could cottage up as soon as possible.

Spoiler: CRAZINESSSSSS (click to show/hide)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My Holy City created a Great Sage. I used it to immediately research Knowledge of the Ether. This is the start of the Magic path and allows me to create Adepts in cities with Mage Guilds.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We finally have education and I can start recovering from our recent recession (I for one, blame the tax-and-spend democrats).

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I convinced Hannah to trade us Bronze working. All it took was giving her hunting. So now, all units have +1 strength from bronze weapons.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
A random event occurred. We were able to sacrifice a Pig resource in exchange for control of a hill giant. This unit will remain powerful for quite a while. The pig was not inside our cities workable radius, so I didn't sacrifice much.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We have trained our first Adept. Magic units gain experience over time. The spells that a magic unit can perform depend on a civilizations access to Mana.

Everybody starts with three types of mana, depending on the civilization. Balseraphs (Us) start with Air, Chaos, and Mind. We can gain access to more types by converting Nodes. We currently have only one nod that we can convert for mana, and even then will have to do some research in order to do the conversion.
Spoiler: Our mana (click to show/hide)

I built a Wonder in Coombe View: The Heron Throne. It allows me to use water tiles for a production bonus (+1 hammer for you Civ nuts).

I have researched Festivals! This allows me to build Freaks and Freak Shows. Freaks are built in any Balseraph city (they are our Unique Unit) and start off mutated. Mutation means that their initial promotions are randomized. A Freak unit can be a born champion or a degenerative cripple. So I am churning out Freaks now, hoping to get a few gems. All Freaks can sacrifice themselves to build a Freak show(+culture, +happiness) and so this will be the fate of the weaklings. (dwarfy, huh?)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Ethne is a bitch. You can see the city she built there.

~30 turns before this, I noticed her workers, traveling through my land, trying to get there. Assuming that meant a settler was not far behind, I immediately closed my borders. Seems that either a small force passed through my lands and took the existing barbarian city without me noticing, or she sent her forces by sea. Either way, I'm furious. That was literally where I was going to expand to.

Status:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We just completed Mind Stapling, allowing us to use the powerful units behind Octopus Overlords.

Everyone likes us except Tasunke (I have no idea why).

Our economy has recovered and we are poised to expand once more.

We are clearly the victors in a culture race.

Now, questions. Where are we going to go next? Should we try for Jubilee again? We have the Hill Giant, 4-5 super-freaks that have been upgraded to swordsmen, and archers. We might be able to take Orthus now, but I'm still not confident. And at this point, Jubilee isn't much of a prize. Hannah has encroached on it big time and I would be stuck against her the entire time.

Maybe take the fight to Ethne? I really don't think that'll do much good, she's been in a constant state of military build-up since the start of the game.

Or remain peaceful for now? Maybe keep everybody happy and go for a culture victory?

You're playing psychopaths.

I recommend a coinflip to decide. Heads, we take Jubilee back an try to culture flip Hannah's cities. Tails, we kick the crap out of that bitch Ethne, suing for peace as soon as she'll talk to us again. Edge, we begin a tradition of giving away, for free, every technology we have, to everyone, and do so from now on, whenever we get a new tech.

I think those are crazy enough.

Beat the crap out of Ethne.

Then beat the crap out of Orthus.

Doesn't to be in that order, which ever one incurs the more fun outcome.

Beat the crap out of Orthus, steal his axe, and then kick the crap out of Ethne with it.

So it seems that I forgot to save before I exited last night. Thankfully, there was an autosave about 10 turns earlier. So I replayed those turns. Then I did some scouting of Ethne.

Loki can ignore closed borders so I sent him to see what Ethne was up to. It seems her cities are sparsely defended with a few archers per city. She has also expanded west further than I first thought. I'm still hesitant to do anything drastic until I have a specific Tech advantage (like, say, catapults or Cultists or maybe a hero.

Also, with Festivals researched, we now have the Balseraph world spell, Revelry. It gives us a free Golden Age. I say that we save it for endgame, where Golden Ages are more expensive. But wha do you guys think?

By the time we have a tech advantage, she may have shorn up her defenses. I say we take a couple of her cities, then make her pay for peace.

We should totally save Golden Age.

It's funny you mentioned forgetting to save. I started that Khazad session I was talking about, and was having a lot of fun. I took out the Ljolsafar (hah!) On turn 30. :D then the game crashed. D8

I didn't think it would auto-save, I'm going to check that soon.

Well. I installed a patch that broke save compatibility. Forgot about this at the time.

I might give you an update in a couple of days if I can figure out how to roll it back.

Do you want to play via hamachi? We had a great game last night. Too bad RandomNumberGenerator had to go to sleep (and it fas funny how we found each other during a game organized by ANOTHER forum; DF players are taking over the world :P).

But there were 5 of us, and Sheaim are really strong. FFS, I've managed to destroy one of their city and then my stacks of 20+ centaur archers and 10+ paramanders were leveled to the ground with their ubersummons which are free. But I retreated and almost built Mercurian Gate when Sheaim took my capital, which moved my capital in the city with the gate and... It canceled because you cannot build it in your capital. Haha. :D

It was a fun warmongering yet friendly game, you rarely get these ones, usually it's too quiet or people begin to RAEG when you fight. But we had good players.
