I'm wondering: Will buying equipment affect our endgame, win scores? As in will buying equipment detract from it, so that if I bought something just before the cycle ended I'd have 250 points less on that score? Or will all accumulated points count?

Only points you have at the end of the cycle count for the score, so theoretically you could just stockpile influence like many of you seem to be doing. But even a couple pieces of equipment can make a huge difference in fail or success. It's a trade off really. Basically it's like how much money you have at the end of a game, you could just horde it and gloat that you had so much, but in the end someone who buys better gear will be able to make more with more ease.

The waiting list should be at the bottom of the status on each of my turn posts, right before the rolls. Right now we are filled to about halfway through cycle 3. However, as Grek and RAM have demonstrated, a streak of bad luck can change things. Either way, let me know if you want to join the wait list.

Also, anyone heard from Grek? Kinda worried I broke him, haven't seen him post anywhere since the rolls screwed him over. :(

Guys, I think buying equipment, especially for gatherers and traders, may have amazing benefits. Gathering and trading are only one skill, as far as I know, so you don't get some ludicrously specific equipment like +1 skill in engraving boneforged glass with summoned demon hair or whatnot, you get +1 skill in everything you do. Plus, gathering and trading are dangerous. Sure, you may only get an average of +1 point, but if you get even 1 upgrade, you reduce your chances of getting lost by 10%; another, 11%; another, 12%; another, 14%; another, 17%; another, 20%; another, 25%; another, 34%; another, 50%; and finally, with 10 upgrades, you are guaranteed never to get lost.

Quite true, though gatherers need more to be safe trading, and crafters need much more to go exploring. But on the same side, Traders(whom no one has signed up for yet) will never become lost on trading, same with Gatherers, like Kinesen, he will never become lost on a turn because of his innate boost.

Kinda surprised there hasn't been more traders, sure you rely on others to make stuff for you, but you can gain massive amounts of influence using group made items. And in exchange you will be another source of traded materials, though a gatherer will gain more in the long run from crits.

Still. Massive usefulness in not getting lost like that guy. Who got lost. And then died or something.

Can bonuss be accuired that affect the quantity and/or quality of gathered items. or other rolls without any known bonuses currently?
