I'm going to look for locals to trade with. Maybe they have silk. Or paper. Or sugar. If I find any, I will attempt to trade the bonsi tree for the thing they have.

Create another spiky rod, out of  the same metal, and tell Yu (Grek) that he won't get any of my components to trade with. Also, nab some of the lime green metal into the personal storage. I will also create a personal smithy for my upgrade point (or somesuch), to help with my future metalcrafting. Hopefully that smithy will be useful for both fine and large work.

How many turns do we have left?

Also, since my rods are of the same metal, they are conductive, yes?

yep, a crafter applies to any type of craft, and alchemy is a type of craft. Probably a skill.

1. Do you want to spend influence and buy a metalcrafting equipment upgrade as a free action? Making your own won't really work, as it would just be another crafted item.

2. 2 more days in this world, 8 more worlds after this one, 3 days/turns per world, 8*3+2=26. The current cycle should end just before Febuary if we keep up this pace.

3. Sure. :) I will assume you wanted them conductive since you made them, and allinged the electrons or whatever is needed to keep them that way.

check the first post, equipment costs 250 influence per upgrade. Each upgrade gives you +1 to the skill that the equipment enhances. Its a free action as you can purchase an upgrade at any time as long as you spend the influence.

Equipment starts at 0, and gives +1 to your roll for each level of upgrade you have.
Equipment can be upgraded a maximum of 50 times(Note: A test is required after each 10 upgrades to upgrade further and takes 1 turn, 200 influence, and an item to complete.)
Equipment upgrades will cost 250 INFLUENCE(see below)
Only at the 4 level 10 segments do you need to actually craft a gear with your action.

World Difficulty: 63. Outside the view portal you can see an overgrown field of dry wheat. A large rusted-metal oil pump used to sit, still and unmoving just beyond the field, and a yellow-dirt road leads out of view. The sky is light grey, but otherwise earth norm.

Waiting list:

I'll go looking for plant life to Gather
attempt: 40+1=41
Despite the fact that there seems to be wheat as far as the eye can see, none of it is alive, and it all seems dry and withered. Nothing that could be of use.
+41 gather exp

I'm going to look for locals to trade with. Maybe they have silk. Or paper. Or sugar. If I find any, I will attempt to trade the bonsi tree for the thing they have.
attempt: 18
You cradle your newly created tree in the crook of your arm and go for a walk in the current world. Not knowing where to look specifically you wander about for a bit, but find only empty husks of buildings and overgrown plantlife.
+18 trade exp

Create another spiky rod, out of the same metal, and tell Yu (Grek) that he won't get any of my components to trade with. Also, nab some of the lime green metal into the personal storage.
attempt: 47+20+1=68
quality: 51
base influence: 10+51=61
Taking two rock chunks from the group storage you clean them of their rock waste, and turn one into a simple bar for later use, while the other you attempt to copy into another spiky rod. The result this time is much more proper, perhaps the experience from the last try helped some.
+68 metalcrafting exp(~levelup!~)
+61 crafting influence
+ 1 lime green metal bar
+ 1 sharp spiky lime-green metalic rod. !base influence: 61!

Gather around, hopefully not running into deadly creatures.
attempt: 95
quality:77, 45
quantity:75-77=1, 23-45=1
Wrapping your power around you like a shroud, you decide to take a different tactic in gathering. Powerfully marching straight up to the old oil pump you grab onto the side and give a metal-wrenching heave, tearing the whole rusted iron object right up from the mounting it was connected to on the ground.
The simple act of tearing the pump from the pipe below it has broken a seal and black fluid squirts high into the air. Shifting your concentration, you manage to warp the metal with some of your power, and produce a fair sized barrel with some of the scrap, as well as several good iron bars. You quickly fill it with the black gold before the pressure of the spout fades back into it's natural state.
+95 gather exp(~levelup!~)
+ 1 barrel full of oil. Approximately 42 gallons.
+ 6 iron bars

Gather.
attempt: 71+20+1=92
quality: 97, 59
quantity: 18-97=1, 100-59=41
Choosing to follow the road the other way, you come across some sort of abandoned shop. As you rummage around in the broken down building, you come across a trapdoor of sorts leading to an underground cache. Inside you find 5 8-packs of AA batteries unopened, and a single gas-powered chainsaw that looks like it hasn't been used once.
+92 gather exp(~levelup!~)
+5 packs of AA batteries, 8 batteries per pack.
+1 gas-powered chainsaw(if dismantled: 1 sharpened metal chain, 2 long side blades. about 12 screws, 1 small engine, 1 smallish gas tank full with fuel, one pile of assorted scrap, 1 nylon cord about 1m long, 1 smallish plastic handle in the shape of a T, 1 rubber tube from the main grip)

Make 1 small pile of green, bearded figures out of 1 small pile of green rocks[
attempt: 8+20=28
Bolsted by the success of the fine work needed to make the necklace, you gather some of the green rocks and try to sculpt them into small figureines. The particular rocks you choose seem to be very brittle, and you don't have much luck in being gentle no matter how much you try. Repeated tries eventually reduce the pile into a handful of green sand.
+28 stonesculpting exp
+1 handful of green sand

Some very nice gathers this go around. Hope you enjoy it. ;) One last turn on this world, then we are off to uncharted lands. Also, making 'Cthulhuoid' figures would probably take a critical, they have massive powers but they are still mortal, let alone the instant damage rule. Insanity dolls could be possible, but would be tough, and so not with that roll.

WOO! Put all 3 bars and the oil in my inventory, and smith the one of the bars that is not in my inventory into a a Ninja-To, or similar slashing implement.

Erm, Scratch that. Ask for the chain saw and fuel it with the oil.
I'm not sure because I don't know if it's Crude Oil.

You could just create another barrel and refine the oil into it, getting all those lovely petroleum products to huck into the hold and actual gasoline for the chainsaw ...

Erm, do that and fuel the chainsaw.
Oh dammit, take the chainsaw and refine the fuel.

(One question, can we tame the local wildlife?)
