Have *you* stopped beating your lover yet?

Kol Tölunimush has been ecstatic lately.  He killed somebody by accident while sparring recently.  He took joy in slaughter lately.  He has lost a lover to tragedy lately.  He has witnessed death.  He had a satisfying sparring session recently.

Perhaps I should mention that his love is indeed in his kill list.

That's better than when I had two children who were brothers, and both read "Urist McDahmer has been ecstatic lately.  He was forced to endure the decay of a mother recently."

I've never tried it and there's a good chance it could make them freak out.

I once had two brothers who were sparring (with steel weapons, by the way), one broke the other's leg, then when that one got better, he killed the other one in a sparring "accident". I know he killed him because I found the other's corpse and he was the only one in the barracks with it.

Yikes, the Orcs have a nasty language.  Traditional foreplay would be right out for them; how would they ever "say my name" for one another?  No wonder Ocrs are always so bloodthirsty and violent, they're getting sub-par action.

Well, he's the remaining third of my army.  One is in bed nursing a broken lower arm, the other is dead.  And I have a jeweler who tussled with a fire imp, and a minor who decided to take a shortcut through the magma.  So I don't have a deep pool of recruits to draw from either.

I had a champion dwarf forced to kill her berserk lover. She was still ecstatic after that and all the other deaths and decay of her friends because 1) she had taken joy in slaughter and 2) she really, really loved having horse biscuits and strawberry wine.

Dwarves are naturally pretty screwed up, but I think soldiers are a level above that.

Soldiers have the "doesn't care about anything anymore" attribute, and as such personal death etc barely affects them.

Actually, dwarves get it from seeing a lot of deaths, not from being a soldier.

Ah, but being a soldier often implies heavy casualties.
