Skeletal Diplomat

I found this in the Dwarven Capital.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

In front of my dwarven adventurer is a skeletal Diplomat which can hold a normal conversation, how did this happen?

It could be a mix up with the Tileset. I got that once were bears looked like alligators

Rather than having them directly force you to mine adamantine, I would suggest that they give you strange moods that require adamantine. "Dig out the adamantine or Urist here goes insane and dies" is suitably vicious.

(It occurs to me that you can probably get "Lovecraft" as the random name of your fortress. That's when you know you're screwed.)

Aren't all undead hostile? And it's somehow unexplainable how a Skeleton can speak to my adventures with no vocal cords, I can understand it with zombies because I see their vocal cords sticking out...

Alligators and Bears are 2 of the less deadly things than Carp and Hippos.

Yeah, it's just a screwup with the creature graphics.

I am running the same graphics and have the same situation. It is definitely a mixup with the graphics. Easiest to tell by (l)ooking at the diplomat.
