Investigate the tiles to the south. The ones adjacent to what we have discovered right now.

(That would require making MORE tiles. I'll get around to it eventually.)
(Also lazily delaying finishing the other two.)

To the southeast, the trees are somewhat closer. There is likely a forest out that way.

Dig a 6x6 pit in the middle of the 16x16 immediately east of the shelter.

Attemt to make a wheelbarrow out of wood. It may come in handy for collection.

I'm going to assume you meant the micro map level.
Yeah, you assumed correctly :)

Rocks! Mine out enough rocks, so that you can later make a campfire, like so:

Is the shelter a good place to store food? Or should we build another building for that? Should we build beds?

The shelter will work as a small abstract storage fow now, and beds will give (Arbitrary statristics mode) 2% (/Asm) more work-hours per day. That is about a third of an hour per person, rounded down, so for every three people with beds, you get an extra work-hour per day.

If the beds only need wood for their construction, I say let's go for it!

Unless qwertyuiopas is already overwhelmed with our suggestions :D

actually, IN the interest of realism, I suggst the beds have a filling of something soft. This was often done using straw, hay, rags etc. in the past, and is still done, sometimes. When we get our harvest, perhaps we could dry that and sleep on it?

How about a table?

BeddingBonus
None0.1%
Dirt/sand0.15%
Grass0.2%
Straw/hay/harvest1.2%
Rags/scrap cloth1.4%
High quality contents2.0%
Very-hard-to-get ultrahigh contents3.0%
With additional technological and/or magical bonuses: Up to an additional 3%

Most of that is arbitrary and may change if I feel like it, but it gives you a general outline.

Finally, sleeping with just bedding, and no frame, has half the bonus.

You spend four hours digging and mounding. Your friends is working on a wheelbarrow.

(And I still need to map those last two areas...)
