Here's my idea:

A typical Roll to Dodge. I'll set it in a world mostly pulled from DF 'canon'. The catch?

Instead of describing what skills and aspects your character starts with, you choose a song (link) that bests represents your character. Then I derive everything about your character, except for their name, from the song.

Auto Fail: Can't let you do that, Fox! Usually results similar to doing nothing.
1: You fail dramatically and probably smash something.
2: You fail.
3: You partially fail, getting part-way finished or the like. If you roll two 3's in a row attempting the same thing, treat as a 4.
4: You succeed your task.
5: You succeed and then some, good job! Have a cookie!
6: You overshoot- for example, blowing up the entire city when you try to shoot the goon. You succeed, but Fun^tm happens as well.
Auto Success: Even you can't mess it up!

Fighting demons has taught you how awful man can be, and you've been residing in the Forests of Gruesome Disembowlement to Any and All Interlopers Whatsoever Also Goatanus where you won't be bothered, to live out your later years in peace. But you sense a disturbance from the town in the west. Perhaps it's time to slay your last demon. You never could kill it, years ago, and were forced to merely imprison it with the Cheese Diamond. Now you're going to set things straight once and for all. As soon as you remember your name. You're a little disoriented, Black Mamba Soup can do that to a man.

You must prevent the city from getting any more destroyed, apprehend those responsible if you can, and restore some sort of command center at the castle site.

History: You're captain of your space ship, the Dagger. It's a small scout ship with a crew of 15, of which you are the illustrious captain. You were on an expedition into the Nether Regions, but an Ork ship found and fired on you. They've knocked out your warp drive, teleporter, and main thrusters, among other minor things. You barely managed to crash-land on a class M planet. It's uncharted, but appears civilized. You've scanned a human tribe a few minutes to the north, and there's a kobold city even closer to the west. You need to repair your ship and get back to the war effort- but of course, you've got the prime directive to follow. You must do your best to avoid alerting the natives of this planet to your presence, by disguise or otherwise.

History: You seek necromantic power, much to the chagrin of your parents. You work part time at a cheese sandwich shop. What you really want, though, is to move out- ideally to a hidden lair with a good-sized zombie legion, and all that you need to work on becoming a lich lord. Also, you don't hate hula hoops.

Recently you've taken a break from holding up merchant vessels, to pursue a treasure map you picked up in a seedy tavern. You're stationed outside Cheesebridge now, and ready to set out at a moment's notice... as you as you get your crew off of their butts.

Description: Like most half-orcs, you're an orphan used to living rough. In spite of this, you're about as charismatic as a half-orc can be (not very). Aside from an unusual love of the sea (you hate land more is all), you're mostly a common half-orc, right down to unusual orcish swearing habits.
History: You've traveled the seas for some time, with your dingy fishing boat and your mostly-useful crew. That is, until Urel Hardswinn held you up and stole your modest savings. Now you're setting up in Cheesebridge to give him a piece of your mind. And let's be serious, that just means you want to beat the fluids out of him. Unfortunately, armed with aught but a harpoon gun and whatever you can buy in this cheese-obsessed city, you're going to have to resort to shenanigans for that to happen.

This is a good time to clarify that yes, that's what I intended. The town of Cheesebridge is close outside Castle Cheesebridge.

And Kilakan, that's fine. Your character doesn't have to really come from the lyrics, and regardless, I like Rammstein.
