I've got the save, and everything's working correctly. Time to begin! Please forgive me if my writing's not all that great.

Well if COD players all have ADHD, and Minecrafters autism, then what do DF players all have?

Spring has now concluded, and oddly enough nothing of importance has happened. I noticed that there was a bit of a food/booze crisis (our farming was entirely based on six 2x3 plots), so much alcohol was brewed and larger farms have been made. Three children have been born, a new mayor was elected, and an artifact was created.

Other than that, we've gotten another wave of migrants (20 or so? I wasn't really paying attention), I've moved a lot of rock from the hallways and bedrooms, just for the sake of neatness, established a large barracks for roomless dwarves to sleep in, and put up some floodgates at the entrances to the fort for easy defense, as well as various other attempts to stabilize/organize the fort.
One strange thing that happened was that a dog skin apparently spontaneously combusted, filling a hallway with smoke for a while.

This summer marked the arrival of my first (and so far, only) siege. We were attacked by two squads of goblins, one mostly armed with crossbows. Two hammerdorfs and two war dogs were lost, mainly because the crossbow squad decided to take a break just as the goblins arrived. Besides that, another artifact was produced, we struck delicious gold, and I was confronted with an interesting message: "Migrants refused to journey to such a dangerous fortress this season". Never seen that one before, but we can only hope it won't continue to appear.

Warhammer651's tomb (not that he's dead yet), which will eventually be smoothed + engraved:

Winter has now begun. During Autumn, as usual, nothing much happened. There was a siege of 4 goblin squads, causing us the life of only a single war dog. The entire first floor below ground has been smoothed, and is now quickly being engraved. Exploratory mining continues to be quite fruitful in terms of gems and ores. All stone throughout the first and second floors has been moved to a quantum garbage dump between the carpentry and mechanic's workshops. It currently has 1443 stones in it, so a future ruler may see fit to smash them out of existence, thus potentially reducing lag. Caravans came and went, I've dug some halls out to improve pathfinding, and the food and booze stockpiles continue to increase.

Only one, actually, "Nguslu Chancefiend the goblin".

The Winter update should be up shortly.

Spring has arrived! We were besieged yet again, but for once the marksdorfs actually did their job, killing all of the goblins that attempted to enter the fortress, which was quite fortuitous seeing as both other military squads were off drinking during the siege. I believe we've reached a sort of milestone in the history of our fortress with the latest artifact, an oaken casket with an image of a dwarf striking down a goblin.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Beyond that, all was calm in Jackbolt; I began work on a dam when the water froze, but could only complete half of it; the lever for its floodgates (not linked yet) is in the little courtyard over the brook.

Over the course of my turn the following things have been accomplished/happened independent of my interference:
First floor smoothed and partially engraved.
Animal population fairly well decimated, lag is much improved.
Food/booze stockpiles brought up from next to nothing, and continue to be filled.
Quite a lot of exploratory mining, so lots of gems and ores.
Three sieges, with minimal dwarven loss.
Three artifacts, three or so marriages, five or so births, and one large wave of migrants.

Things to note:
Mining is on level 142
The two levers near the main stairway on ground level control entrance floodgates (they have notes on them)
Mayor's chambers is on 147

Overall, no megaprojects have been started or worked on, but I'm proud of the stability, neatness, and general organization I've brought to the fortress; and so, now that my duties as ruler are no longer required, I shall spend the rest of my life brightening up the fortress with masterpiece engravings and masterfully crafted barrels.

I've put the save and modded raws, etc. into a new copy of DF so you don't have to modify yours to run the fortress: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1758
By which I mean, just open the app in that folder and it should work fine; please tell me if there are any problems.

Oh, it's too late for that. :P
Also, the file on MU seems to be not working, so I'm re-upping it to DFFD.

Why, myself, of course. I figure taking a small trophy is befitting of my reign.

Looks good, I have a basketball game then I'm going to see a movie. I'll get started on it tonight or tomorrow afternoon after mass.

(That is if Overspeculated doesn't show up.)
