Not everyone is quite as good as leaving it unpaused as you, pal! I pause it quite a lot, so it takes me a fair while. Not to mention that people can actually be having a life in the meanwhile.

Right now Rampages seem to be Godzilla quietly walking into Tokyo, biting the leg off of one reporter... then creeping off again without a sound.

Me too. I'm on holiday at the moment, so it's not like I can't put a day aside to finish a turn. It's just when you have stuff like school, work, friends and such in the way too.

Anyway, back to regular discussion. Has Darkrider2 reached the end of winter yet?

Well, it's been a holiday, and he has a full week according to the rules, so I'm not going to worry until Wednesday.

Of course some update would still be nice anyway.

Sorry guys. I was enjoying my new PS3 (so you can't exactly say my life was what was getting in the way).

And Merry Christmas to you all. Going to dodge the parents a little longer so I can finish my turn.

Hot Damn! A mamga pipe! This will make Ustuth, the blacksmith very happy, that seems to be all he could talk about for the past few months. I had just finished walling off the staircase to the pipe when Adil came into view.
“Hey Adil.”
“hey. wait, where is it?”
“what?”
“My magma pipe.”
“Oh its right beyond this wall right here, can you feel how hot it is? There’s lava on the other side.”
“I want to see it.”
“Not going to happen, there’s fire imps and who knows what in there, that’s why I walled it off.”
“This is my fort! And I want to see it!”
“Really? I haven’t seen you do one thing useful since we got here!”
“I’ll kick your ass, that’ll be useful!” He held up his axe blade, still covered in splinters from cutting down trees. Fucking drunks. My pick was the only form of defense. The corridor was made for exploratory mining, its barely a dwarfs width wide and I’m backed against the magma pipe.
He swung at me, his steel axe hit the wall with every swing but it had no scuff marks, the blade hadn’t even dulled one bit in the last few months of chopping. My copper pick was dull and worn, if I swung it would quickly bury itself in the wall rendering me defenseless.
I threw the copper pick at him, the distraction gave me just enough time to tackle him to the ground. I launched one fist after another in succession, barraging his face with my knuckles. Mafol, the miner, came over and pulled me off of him, he was unconscious anyway.
A week later I got word of Migrants. Joy! We’ve been needing some extra labor ever since we started. But it worries me they found us in only a years time, and any single one of them could be a goblin, elf, or merchant spy. I have decided to give them jobs here but only minor ones, and I’ll step up security, as soon as the forges are finished we’ll have all the armor and weapons we could ever need.
But if this group is as crazy as Ustuth or Adil I’m not sure I want to govern them, at the end of this year I’m going to go back to doing a true dwarfs job, mining.

Note to Successor
If your reading this then your accepting responsibility of Jackbolt. I’m retiring and its your job now to take care of the place. Some things you might want to know, the two levers outside, NEVER EVER EVER PULL THEM BOTH, they control the floodgates to the farms. Also, the farmers are just putting seeds all over the fucking place, its taking up too much space in the food stockpile, they won’t put them in barrels unless they have bags and for some reason the boys think each one needs a fucking barrels worth of space in the stockpile. You should get a few guys working on setting up the clothiers and farmers shops and the looms, then make some bags. The two rooms by the gem stockpile are for jewelers workshops, we need something to trade if those bloody merchants come back. Last of all a few more beds are needed to fill the empty rooms in the north.
Other then that do whatever the hell you want, Armok be with you.

Got the file, starting now. I'll try to be done in a day or two.

darkrider2: You messed with the raws or something, and the file you posted won't work. You'll need to zip your entire game folder and send it along, I keep getting the "Missing item definition: biscuits" when I try to load the game.

I'm just about done with my turn. I'll post the update late tonight in one big lump. I've had company over the last few weeks, so it's been hard for me to do any writing.

Fun-tastic facts/spoilers:

No deaths yet
2 megaprojects have been started, both with lots of room for creative control by future leaders.
We have cloth!
Almost 50 dwarves.
