All limbs cut off expedition leader?

Well seems my current expedition leader had little... accident...involving hippos in dining room end result being all four limbs cut off and hes paralyzed in barracks for rest of his life, oddly still estatic about it, even after his friend died on same hippo ...accident...  ::)

Now my problem is my fortress cant get any work done for obvious reasons, is there any way of getting rid of expedition leader without upsetting the dorfs?

Are you sure the limbs are cut off? I'd think he would have bled to death in short order. What color are the limbs?

I've had a dwarf survive with no limbs from the beginning of a reclaim to the moment where she was the last one left between the rampaging hydra and the entrance. So it is at least possible to survive as an quad-amputee.

you can reassign all jobs apart from the leader position.

If you want him gone, just lock the door to the room he's in and let dehydration take its course.

of course once expedition leader turns to mayor he will probably be voted out.... of course having a politician who couldn't run away would be a plus.
