Part 3: All things happen in fives
And so the bard sings...

We've gained a level, isn't that great?
We'll conquer the world, at this rate,
We'll save the day, we'll rescue the city,
We're dashing, and charming, and thoroughly witty,
We're up and coming, we're dashing and new!
We're the greatest adventurers! We're level 2!

Frederick X: Ahh...the power! I feel the fabric of the cosmos responding to my whims, obeying my will! I feel as if I'm the most powerful conjurer who's ever lived!

Séamus: Yes, I hear a huge improvement in my rhyme and meter. And did you see the way Lenna backflipped out of the way of the automatic fire from that belt-fed shuriken launcher during the training sessions? That was amazing! I think I like this leveling thing. What about you, Delrick? How do you feel now that you're level 2?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Meh. It does nothing for me. Kind of depressing, really. I was level 19 just yesterday.

Séamus: Really?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yes. That's the deal with being a paladin. Holy light and virtue, but one mistake and BAM! Start over as a level 1 warrior.

Frederick X: Yeah, I can relate. Once I make level 13, I get to start over as a level 1 sorceror.

Séamus: Right, but you'll keep all your conjurer spells, so it's not quite the same.

CRASH!!!!

Aelenus: YOU!!!! FOUL CRETIN!!!!

Frederick X: Gah! Angry dwarf in platemail! Where did she come from?

Aelenus: THE CRIES OF THE INNOCENT SHALL NOT BE IN VAIN!!!

Séamus: From through that wall, I think.

Aelenus: I WILL DESTROY YOU WITH THE FURIED VENGEANCE OF A RAGING TYPHOON!!!

Frederick X: ...oh, I see the hole now, yes. Shaped just like a dwarf.

Aelenus: I WILL SMASH YOUR BRAINS INTO SLIMY GOO!!!

Séamus: Very efficient way to get from Trumpet to Main street, smashing a hole through the houses like that. I always thought it was inconvenient having to go the long way around.

Aelenus: IN THE NAME OF THE GREAT GODDESS, MOON!!!

Frederick X: Now that you mention it, yes...it is sort of a bad design.

Aelenus: ...YOU...YOU...FOUL...

Séamus: Try "I will punish you."

Aelenus: ...WHAT...?

Séamus: You've set up a standard ABAB rhyming scheme. "Typhoon" and "moon" rhyme, and the line before "moon" ended with "goo" so now you need something that rhymes with "goo" to complete the stanza. "I will punish you" would be perfect. Trust me. I know these things. I'm a level two bard.

Aelenus: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??!?!?!

Séamus: ...more to the point...what are you talking about? Who is it you're here to punish?

Aelenus: ...I...I'M STILL WORKING ON THAT.

Séamus: ...ok...do you at least know what it was they did to deserve punishment?

Aelenus: NO! BUT WHATEVER IT WAS IT MUST HAVE BEEN VERY, VERY BAD FOR ME TO HAVE BEEN THE ONE SENT TO PUNISH THEM!!!

Frederick X: ...ok, I think I've had enough of the yelling. Would you talk like a normal person please?

Aelenus: ...oh. Sure. Sorry.

Frederick X: Thank you.

Séamus: Hey, you know...if you're looking for someone bad to punish, why don't you join us? We're on a quest to destroy the sorceror responsible for the snowstorm we've been plagued with.

Aelenus: YES!!! THAT SOUNDS EXCELLENT! HAHAHAHHAHA!!!! MOON GODDESSS...YOUR DIVINE WRATH SHALL BE ENACTED UPON-

Frederick X: OK!!! Enough with the yelling. PLEASE.

Aelenus: Oh...right. (whispers) ...moon goddess...I shall enact your divine retribution upon the unrightious. Please may your holy light insprire me to properly punish all deserving of your righteous fury. Amen. Oh, and some take-out chinese would be nice, too.

Séamus: Hmm. Speaking of which, Frederick...have you seen Delrick anywhere? He was with us when we left the review board, but I don't see him anywhere.

Frederick X: Must have gone on ahead.

(A few minutes later, in front of the Adventurer's Guild)

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Hey, guys.

Frederick X: Oh, hey Delrick. We wondered what happened to you. Nice new helmet you have there.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yes, I figured I'd invest some of that samurai statue gold in some armor. Now that I'm only level 2, I feel kind of delicate.

Frederick X: I especially like that sliding metal plate that completely covers your face.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yes...don't want any kobolds poking my eyes out.

Frederick X: ...right.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: So who's the dwarf?

Aelenus: I AM AELENUS!!! HOLY HIGH PALADIN OF THE DIVINE GREAT GODDESS, MOON!

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Why is that cat following you?

Aelenus: WHAT CAT?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: ...odd. She was there a moment ago. Oh well. Whatever.

Frederick X: Well, then. Now that there are five us of, let's go out and-

Aelenus: WAIT!!! I AM THE PALADIN! I SHALL BE THE ONE TO LEAD US TO VICTORY!!!

Frederick X: ...look, Aelunus...seriously...please stop the yelling. And besides, this whole expedition was my idea. You're the newcomer. Why should I let you be in charge?

Aelenus: BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T I SHALL PUNISH YOU!!!

Séamus: That doesn't seem very paladin-like. I propose that Delrick lead. He has more experience with this kind of thing than any of us.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: No thanks. I'm just tagging along because I have nothing better to do. I'm not interested in being responsible for you people.

Séamus: Ok, well...will you at least stand in front when we're dungeon delving? I think you're the sturdiest member of the group.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Sure. I can do that.

Frederick X: Great! Sounds like we're all set, then. Delrick stands in front, and Séamus and I will work together to coordinate decisions for the party. Everyone agreed?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Sure.

Séamus: Yep.

Lenna: (nod)

Aelenus: ...OK. I WILL FOLLOW YOUR LEAD. BUT IF YOU MAKE ANY DECISIONS I DON'T LIKE I WILL PUNISH YOU!!!

Another day, another night,
A new party member joins the fight,
With Frederick, Séamus, Lenna, Aelenus
And brave, meat-shield Delrick, leadin' us,
As evidenced by this happy song,
The Law of Fives is never wrong.

Part 4: Addendum: Filling out the final slot

So with a well-rounded party of five,
And all, amazingly...still alive...
We leave the guild to seek our fortune,
Challenge fate, and enter a dungeon,
But on the way, unexpectedly,
We stumble upon a gnome in ze city...

Zchris: And now, gentle audiences, for your viewing pleasures, behold ze powerful magics of Zchris! Yes, you see before you ze gnome, Zchris! Zchris ze magnificent...Zchris ze fantastic...Zchris ze cunning...

Frederick X: Zchris the long-winded. Hey, Séamus...you have a performing background. Do you have any idea who this guy is?

Séamus: I don't recognize him, but remember I'm relatively new to Skara Brae. I'm sure the town has a lot of starving performers I haven't met.

Zchris: ...Zchris ze exceptionally tasteful dresser...

Frederick X: If talking about himself is the extent of his repertoire, I'm sure he's one of them.

Aelenus: SHALL I PUNISH HIM FOR YOU!!?!?!

Séamus: No, that's ok. I'll talk to him. *ahem* Excuse me, gallant gnome...what is your great talent?

Zchris: Ahh! Ze audiences cannot hold itself back! Ze audiences must engage itself with Zchris' extreme charms! Zchris must humbly engage himself with ze loyal fans! Yes, you are quite observant for such a tall fellow...Zchris has much talent! And indeed it is great.

Séamus: ...right. But, what exactly is it that you do?

Zchris: ...why, Zchris is but a humble street magician! An impressive and powerful, humble street magician. Please, in your endless admirations, do not shower Zchris in so much golds zat Zchris drowns. Up to ze neck would be adequete.

Frederick X: Wait...you're a magician?

Zchris: But, of course Zchris is a magician!

Frederick X: Séamus, we could use a magician. There are four schools of magic, and it will be quite some time before I'm able to learn them all. If we double up, we'll get access to the full spell list in half the time.

Séamus: Well, I'm all for it. It affects you more than anyone else. Sure you don't mind being one of two spellcasters?

Frederick X: Not in the least. It will make my life easier just as much as everyone else's.

Séamus: Alright. ZChris, we are on a quest to find the sorceror responsible for the spell of eternal winter plaguing the town, and destroy him. Would you join us?

Zchris: Ahh...you propose to invite ze illustrious Zchris on a noble quest?

Séamus: Yes.

Zchris: Would zis quest involves dangers?

Séamus: Definitely.

Zchris: Would zis quest involves treasures?

Séamus: Probably.

Zchris: Would zis quest involves eternally grateful townsfolks?

Séamus: Maybe.

Zchris: Would zis quest involves beautiful virgins showering zemselves on Zchris in zanks?

Séamus: I suppose it's not totally out of the realm of possibility.

Zchris: Well zen, why didn't you say so! Of course Zchris will joins you on your noble quest!

Séamus: ...woot. I think.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yeah, if you could just stand in the back there, over behind Frederick, that would be great. Thanks.

The party's full, the fun begins,
With deadly dangers and epic wins,
I wonder who'll be the first to die...
And whether they'll weep and moan and cry,
How long will they bleed? Will their bladder give out?
Will the monsters strew their organs about?
Will they-

Frederick X: ...I don't want to complain, Séamus, but could we maybe end on a more positive note?

Séamus: *ahem*

...much treasure and fame, and fortune ahead!
On their fabulous path that none else dare tread!
It'll be fine, there's no need to worry!
Just riches and treasure, and power and glory!

Zchris: And virgins! I want ze virgins!

Everyone just leveled. I updated stats in the first post. I'm already seeing trends start to manifest that I expect will continue.

At level 3, Lenna has now passed both the plate-wearers in terms of armor. (note that lower numbers are better) As a monk, she gets a free point every level, whereas the plate wearers are  both already wearing the best possible store-bought armor, so they're totally dependant on magic item drops to improve any further. Lenna will probably be around AC -5 or so before they can catch up. But...she's gaining hit points very slowly, and I'm concerned that magic is going to be the death of her eventually. She can dodge melee attacks, but once we start going up against dragons and mages with area-effect attacks, she's going to have it rough.

As far as the others go, Séamus had a lucky roll on character creation that gave him a sizable head start on hitpoints, but Delrick and Aelenus are catching up. Aelunus a bit more quickly. She's a level behind most of the party right now, but even so she has almost as many hitpoints as Lenna, and I'm pretty sure she'll eventually pass Delrick. In the long run, I think she's going to be the hardest member of the party to kill. Delrick is pretty much advancing as expected. As a warrior, things are pretty simple. Kill stuff, gain levels. Primary bonus for him is going to be that as a warrior he has fewer equipment restrictions that Aelenus. She may end up tougher than him, but he's going to have better equipment sooner.

As far as the mages go, Frederick seems to be the more durable of the two, but Zchris is going to end up with lots more spell power. Even one level beind Frederick, he has just as many spellpoints, and he has a couple point lead in IQ, so his lead is only going to grow. But he's also way behind in constitution, so he's only going to fall more and more behind on hitpoints. He'll probably stay fantastically behind on health until his level 13 class change and he starts over as a level 1 sorceror, at which point he basically gets about 80 free hit and spell points for about an hour's worth of dungeon delving. At that point the two mages might even surpass the plate-wearers in terms of hitpoints, and everything becomes much safer. But of course, I have to keep them alive that long. Curious thing about Frederick, his starting stats were actually better for a fighter than a mage, but the overall totals were simply too good to give up. If you look, you'll see that Frederick is actually the second strongest member of the party, and his constitution is just as high as Delrick's. When making characters I was going for best possible overall scores for the long term, instead of focusing on best class-relevant stats at the expense of secondary stats. Eventually, everybody gets maxxed everything, so I find that it's best to get there as soon as possible rather than min/maxxing for the early game and suffering in the longrun. But it does tend to encourage strange things like we're seeing: bard with more hp than anyone else, mage with more strength than the warrior, etc.

So yes, all that will eventually straighten itself out. But in the meantime, Lenna and Zchris look like the most likely candidates to die along the way. The first hurdle will be the spell casters once we reach the catacombs. They'll show up in groups and blast the entire party with spells, and there's a certain amount of damage that can't be avoided...it just has to be absorbed. The people with the least hit points will have the toughest time there. Since Séamus is a bard, I'll be able to use bardsong to reduce that damage somewhat, but not completely. I'll try to be careful.

After the catacombs the next big test will be the dragon guarding Harkyn's castle. It's a hard-coded encounter...there's no way around it, and the dragon breathes a massively damaging burst that can sometimes do up to 150 damage to every single member of the party. But it's way easier to get to that part of the game than it is to get a party that can absorb the attack. I usually prefer to rush to Harkyn's castle because the treasure drops are so much better there than in the catacombs, but the best course here is probably to take the early portion of the game slowly, take our time, and not rush things.

Thank you. Yes, I'm enjoying writing it too. I sure hope we get more thread traffic after christmas. I feel like people are missing out on this. I'd like to see more feedback, too.

What? What are you talking about? I don't see any dwarven-senshi around here. ^_^

General update

I did a bunch of leveling. Caught up Aeluenus and Zchris, so everyone is level 7 now. Things are proceeding pretty much as expected: Aelenus is way in the lead on hit points, and Lenna and Zchris are  trailling behind. It's partly because of their low constitution. They're basically throwing away 4 hp every level because they're not getting the bonsues some of the others are. I'm trying to catch them up, but leveling is starting to slow way down.

Up until now I've stayed exclusively above-ground, getting experience only from random encounters and statues in town. But xp requirements are high enough now that I don't think that's practical anymore. I think I'll take them into the catacombs next time I play. Xp gains will be higher in there, so hopefully I'll manage to get a relatively fast level or two, but after that I expect it to slow down a lot. On the bright side, by level 9 half the party should be able to withstand a blast from Harkyn's dragon, but the other half...meh. I'll deal with that when it comes.

Wow, looking back at the first post I can see what you were talking about with the low hit points.  Ah, well, have to trust to luck I suppose. :)

I'll be a reserve.

Sign up Spartan the mute, extremely angry human Conjurer>Sorcerer>Magician>Wizard.

He has an odd fascination with imploding things, his favorite colour is red, his favorite foods are pasta, and he wears a skull mask made from an elf skull. He very rarely takes it off.

He also hates elves.

Ah, well, have to trust to luck I suppose.

Fortunately this party has been heving luck in great abundance. I've been delving through the catacombs for two full levels now. Usually the place is filled with assassins and thieves and things with critical strike ability that can insta-kill on a lucky hit, but I've yet to even see one.

This is quite awesome, Bucket, and
Aelenus is just as crazy as I imagined her to be.

Thank you. I'm glad you're happy with her. :)

General Update:

Everyone in the main party is level 9 now. We've been fighting a lot of undead in the first level of the catacombs. Basically I've been healing up, walking in, going straight for the places that have forced random encounters, fighting, and then leaving in a big hurry to heal up and restore spellpoints again. Delrick's been taken down to ~45 or so hp a few times, but it's mostly safe. And probably a third of the armor that Delrick, Aeleunus and Séamus are wearing now is magic, so we're getting good rewards for it. Though we do seem to be gaining levels more quickly relative to gear upgrades. Lenna is still several points ahead of the plate-wearers in terms of armor class, and I thought they'd be pretty close to catching up by now.

Frederick and Zchris have access to AoE damage spells now, so I've pretty much been indiscriminately blasting everything in sight and using the first three as shields. Staying close to the entrance I can do that without worrying about running out of spellpoints. I think we'll stairscum like this for one more level, possibly two...and then I might make a serious attempt for the dungeon boss at the bottom. The more time we spend here, the more likely we'll survive against Harkyn's dragon, but exponential increases in experience requirements per level are starting to take their toll. If I had forever to work with, I'd probably level everyone to 13, have the mages swap class and level them a bit more to try to get them to that magic ~150hp.

You guys might want to start thinking about what you want to do when we're done in the catacombs.

Part 5: The Dwarf Named Aelenus!

Another day, another fight,
The party pressed on through the night,
The hours passed, their power grew,
They even got some new gear too,
But now it's time for plot advancement,
So into the catacombs, we begin our descent.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: No, really. There's a dungeon beneath the Temple of the Mad God. Trust me on this.

Frederick X: I just have a hard time believing that, Delrick. I'm not saying you're lying, but every time I've visited they just ask cryptic questions until I get bored and leave.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yes, that's the trick. You have to answer the question correctly in order for them to let you in.

Séamus: They ask about their religion, right? I don't know much about them. How will we answer the question?

Zchris: We shall ask ZChris to answer ze question. Zchris shall charms zem into begging us to enter with much enthusiasms!

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: The answer is "Tarjan." It's the true name of their Mad God.

Frederick X: What? How do you know that?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: There's a magic mouth on the bottom level of the dungeon beneath the wine cellar in the Dragon's Grog Inn that gives the answer.

Frederick X: ...oh, now the Dragon's Grog has a dungeon beneath it too? Now I know you're joking. Or is there a dungeon hidden beneath every building in this town?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: No, only five. Look, just trust me on this guys. Remember, I used to be a level 19 pal- umm...a little bird told me.

Séamus: ...right. Well, I'm willing to give it a try. Shall we?

(A few minutes later)

Frederick X: Wow. There really is a dungeon down here.

Aelenus: EVIL HERETICS! I WILL SMASH THEIR DUNGEON!

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: That's the plan.

Deadlier monsters and better treasures,
These are an adventurer's chosen pleasures,
In the Mad God's temple, both are abundant
But what evil must herein lay dormant?

Frederick X: ...guys?

Séamus: We're working on it, Frederick.

Frederick X: No, really...guys?!?!?

Séamus: You're the conjurer, Frederick. Can't you conjure up some light for us?

Frederick X: It's dark and it's cold and I'm hungry and almost out of spell points and the floor is wet and...GAH! What's that noise!?!?

Séamus: It's a rat.

Zchris: Oh! ZChris likes rats. Zey are most excellent served with garlic, onions and eggplant.

Séamus: ...you mean ratatouille?

Zchris: But, of course!

Frederick X: That's NOT FUNNY. I'm serious, guys....I'm NOT HAPPY.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Just a moment, I've almost got the torch lit. ...there we go. This is the last torch, guys. Let's make it count.

Frederick X: Thank you. I feel better now. But could we rest for a bit? I'm starved. Have we any rations left?

Séamus: I still have one piece of elvish waybread left. You can have it.

Frederick X: ...bread...? I'm wet and starving and a rat's nibbling on my toe and we've been in this dungeon for hours we're on our last torch and you offer me BREAD?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: No problem. I'll take it, Séamus. Thanks. *munch* *munch* Hey, this is pretty good.

Frederick X: Gah! I was going to eat that!

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: *shrug* You didn't seem interested.

Aelenus: HURRY UP. THERE ARE MORE EVIL DOERS OUT THERE I CAN FEEL THEM!

Frederick X: ...that was what I was afraid of. *sigh*

Séamus: By the way, Delrick...what's the story behind the catacombs down here? Why do the priests of the Mad God keep it hidden like this?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: It's kind of a long story. Do you remember what happened to Prince Kayn's grandfather?

Séamus: King Aildrek? Of course, he died securing a decisive victory against the southern empire. It's a popular tavern tale. I still get requests for songs about that battle from time to time.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yes, I've heard a few. But the version that you probably sing on stage isn't entirely accurate.

Séamus: Oh?

Frederick X: I'm loving the history lesson here, but is any of this relevant? We're in a dungeon and you're talking history from before any of us were born.

Séamus: I was very much alive back then. It was only 70 years ago, you silly, short-lived human.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yes, Frederick, it's extremely relevant. You see, Aildrek was the last monarch to oppose worship of the Mad God. Their temples are fairly common now, but during Aildrek's rule, public worship of the Mad God was forbidden and their priests were routinely burned at the stake. Aildrek did everything he could to stop their church from growing.

Séamus: I remember. How does that tie in to the catacombs here? Are these graves here for their executed priests?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Most of them.

Frederick X: Gah! I'm surrounded by corpses of evil priests!

Aelenus: LESS TALK. MORE PUNISHING EVIL.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: ...but there's also...a souvinir. You see, there were several major High Priests of the Mad Gods church at that battle Aildrek died winning, and when he died, one of them by the name of Bashar Kavilor retreived Aildrek's corpse and raised him as a lich, and imprisoned him here in these catacombs.

Frederick X: There's a LICH in here?!?!?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yes.

Frederick X: And WHY are we still here!??!

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Because we need to kill him.

Frederick X: You said he's a LICH. You can't kill him. Hack him to pieces and they'll just crawl back together. Burn him to cinders and the ashes will simply reform. That's the whole point of being a lich. They're immortal.

(A chill wind passes through, extinguishing the torch and leaving the party shrouded in darkness.)

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: I think he heard you, Frederick.

Frederick X: LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!

Séamus: Too late.

King Aildrek: Foolish mortals, I will drink of your...ahh, Delrick. So good of you to return after so long.

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: You have something I need, lich.

King Aildrek: Then come and get it, my prey. I miss the taste of your blood!

(Aildrek lunges and starts om-nom-nom'ing on Delricks' shoulder.)

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: AAARRRGGHHH!!!! DAMN I forgot how much level drain hurts.

Séamus: Umm...Aelenus? Now would be a good time to punish some evil.

Aelenus: MUST PUNISH EVIL!

Luna: Quickly, Aelenus! Take this broach and wave it over your head!

Frederick X: Whoa. Talking cat. That's pretty random.

(Brief musical interlude. Well, not really brief. More like 45 seconds that could really be better spent fighting the evil lich munching on Delrick's shoulder and draining levels from him. Two levels, in fact. *checks watch* Aildrek did very well in the fight. He killed our stone golem in one hit and managed two hits on Delrick before Aelenus was able to kill him. I was expecting one level drain, but two was a bit more than expecting. *checks watch again* By the way, have you ever noticed how when you open a can of mountain dew, if you do it just right you can get a drop of liquid to splash out of the can? It takes some practice, but it's kind of a neat party trick if you get good at it. Speaking of party tricks, do any of you know how to do that pencil twirl thing everybody was always doing back in high school? It was one of the few things I wanted to learn at school but somehow never managed to...oh, the transformation sequence is over now. Ok. Back to the story.)

Aelenus: MOON...GREAT GODDESS...SMASH HIM!

King Aildrk: NOOO!!!!! I...must...drain your...ener... *squish*

Frederick X: What just happened?

Aelenus: EVIL HAS BEEN PUNISHED!!! BWAHAHAHA!!!

Séamus: Are you ok, Delrick?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: ...I'll be fine. Aildrek and I go way back. He's not that tough, but he always seems to get in a level drain or two before he dies. It will actually help me in the long run since I'll get to make up those two levels later, but...meh. It isn't much fun. Anyway, here's our prize. (reaches over to Aildrek's writhing corpse and tosses something to frederick)

Frederick X: GAH! IT'S AN EYEBALL! I DON'T WANT IT!!!

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yep. Aildrek's left eyeball. Don't worry, he won't miss it after his body rebuilds itself. Let's just be sure we're gone when it does.

Séamus: Why are we taking an eyeball?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Even though Aildrek was raised as a lich, he still retained some fragments of memory from his former life. Before he was imprisoned, he struck one last blow against the priests of the Mad God by desecrating one of their most sacred relics. It's something they've been trying to fix for years, and I've always suspected that Aildrek wanted to keep an eye on their efforts. I think it will be an important piece later on.

Frederick X: ...ok, fine, whatever....can we get out of here now?

Delrick the Oath-Breaker: Yes, we're done here. By the way, what was that nonsense Frederick was babbling about a cat instead of helping fight while I was being eaten alive by the lich?

Séamus: Hmm. Now that you mention it, Frederick did say something about a cat during the fight, but I never saw it.

Frederick X: Ok, I'm casting teleport now! Anyone who's not too busy chatting and wants to go HOME, now's the time.

And with that, Frederick teleported the party out of the dungeon, and Séamus begn singing of Aelenus' great victory over the former King Aildrek

The Dwarf Named Aelenus
Fighting Aildrek in Skara Brae,
Winning treasure every day,
Always eager to make evil pay,
She is the dwarf named Aelenus.

She will never run away from a beat-down,
She is always smashing through the town,
She's the one who evil just can't get around,
She is the dwarf who says...

I WILL PUNISH YOU!!!
EVIL DOERS!
BETTER RUN!
OR I'LL SQUASH YOU!

With holy light and wrathful vengeance,
She is the dwarf named Aelenus.

(Brief mandolin instrumental)

Fighting liches, and doing right,
Winning love through strength and might,
With the aid of Goddess Moon's light,
She is the dwarf named Aelenus,
She is the dwarf named Aelenus.
She is the dwarf...
AELENUS!
