Does Gmail put advertizing in your mails?

Topic hijack:
I'm geting my and more sick of hotmail, but evrything and evryone have my hotmail adress. I'd much rather have Gmail, or a non-web mail, but Iä'm not sure how it works and if I can make it redirect before even reaching hotmail servers or what?

Of course not. Because they aren't a second-rate service. There's a little advertising box when you go read your email, but it has nothing to do with your email or its contents.

Set up automatic forwarding in Hotmail.

e: oh, apparently hotmail is like, the one service that doesn't let you do this.  In that case, I advise you to make a clean break.  Better sooner than later.

You could just email everyone that your address was changing.

Now.  OUT OF MY THREAD with this offtopic banter.

I need a super trendy, memorable, cool nickname that will still be cool when it is no longer trendy.

I'm thinking something to do with electric sheep.

I picked one.  To lock, or not to lock? That is the question.

Gmail's spam filter is great and I get basically no spam anyhow (although I'm not sure how that could be gmail's doing...I can only assume the other email services were selling addresses to spammers or something else they insist they don't do). Once in a while a real message goes into the spam folder, but the thing is, I get one spam message every couple weeks, so whenever one shows up, I just check on it and if it's spam, it's easy to delete and if not I just move it to inbox.

You can set gmail to take emails automatically from your other emails. That's what it does with my college email.

Well more accurately, you set your other emails to send their mail to gmail.

Otherwise you could just take mail from anybody's address

I'm pretty sure gmail goes in and takes the emails out, considering I haven't changed anything in my college email. It did require the password to the email, though, to make sure it was mine.
