My Father and my Older Sister watched it

The both hated it. Though mostly because it was too long.

I thought it was about right. It held my attention.

How about this one, "Avatar is shit (too long) because for most of the movie it felt like James Cameron was unabashedly wanking off into my face in between the actiony bits".

Those are not my words by the way. I don't live in the right hemisphere of the world to say 'wanker' ::)

I thought the movie was just about the right length. Lol, went in at 9.30 PM, then we were all surprised at how the time flew by. I don't think I'd mind if they added another hour on top of it.

Any hemisphere is the right hemisphere for the word 'wanker'...

I thought it was an entertaining movie that looked great, and the 3D was done tastefully. The story was run-of-the-mill but kept everything going, so I didn't really mind that it was basically a sci-fi adapation of Dances with Wolves/Pocahontas.

Any hemisphere is the right hemisphere for the word 'wanker'...
Especially if you're talking about the UK, which seems to me to be where the word is used most, as the country is in both hemispheres, the line runs straight through London.

Uh, yeah! That's what I meant all along.

It's just a word, you're being pedantic and childish.
Am I?  Or I'm the one that feels he has to take responsibility for the words he says will others don't?  You don't agree with me so I'm pedantic and childish?  Nice...  Ad hom... Nice... No further comments.

It's not just that I disagree with you, it's that your entire argument rests on the definition of "hate". "Hate" can actually mean a very wide range of levels of dislike. For instance, the phrase "I hate it so much when that happens" may have the word "hate" in it but often doesn't involve that much disliking. The phrase "I hate you" probably involves a lot more dislike, when used seriously. So, the meaning of "hate", and many other words, is inherently difficult to pin down exactly. Therefore, to base your argument upon it is an exercise in futility and the very fact that you decide to pick apart the meanings of individual words rather than the sentence as a whole is pedantic. Not to mention the fact that even after we provided several explanations, you still felt like persuing the issue, without even changing your argument.
Right... I mean... Why would I think I'm right when you're on the opposite side of the discussion... How dumb of me.

My point is... Don't trash a movie if you will provide  no arguments and backtrack on your original, lame argument.

The fact that you wrote a wall of post means you're right...

I surrender to your superior logic. XD

Ok, no, seriously.

I know what you mean.   I know what he means.  I'm just pissed about the fact that someone can post that people hate/dislike a movie because it was too long (not only implying lenght but also lack of spellbinding attributes?).  I think it was just an unfounded review and I totally disagree with it.

I know that it's a matter of opinion so I won't try to push my thoughts into his/their mind but I also wanted to inquire further on the reasons behind that opinion because they were really vague.

You guys jumped at me for not interpreting things your way.

Also... Selectively arguing something migtht mean I'm too lazy (or uninterested) in entering in a stupid war of wall posts with you.

And this is seriously the last comment I have to make about this... It's not worth mine or anybody else's time...

IF ONLY that one person had just asked his Sister what she meant by that stray comment! All this could have been avoided!
