Good arrows are no less strong than bullets. Having more mass and less tendency to blunt on impact helps break glass.

Good luck firing an arrow at sonic speeds, I guess.

A  bull whip can't break military-grade armored glass either.

Then an arrow certainly can't.

Then again, it shouldn't be a problem BECAUSE WHO PUTS GIANT WINDOWS ON MECHS?

Stupid.  Stupid thing.

Yeah, if you are going to build mechs in the first place, just put cameras on the outside.

Although those might get broken.

Yeah, if you are going to build mechs in the first place, just put cameras on the outside.

Although those might get broken.

This is easily solved by putting more cameras.

So can windshields, but cameras are much smaller and if you lose a camera you don't die.

There are ways to make armor transparent.

Windows are armor.

Windows are windows in armor. Aluminum oxynitride, or whatever the actual name is, is one step towards actual transparent armor.

Windows are armor.

not if your enemies have lasers.

Armour is something that protects you.

So windows are things that protect you, while allowing you to see outside.

not if your enemies have lasers.

But they have arrows remember?  And that's still wrong, any thickness of transparent material will absorb a laser (probably destructively) through refraction.
