I don't think anybody has any firm ideas about who is scum and who is not. So they jump at Meph, or at Leafsnail, or who ever comes into their field of view first.

Well, asking sonearage things that would ascertain his scumminess would be a good idea.

Being aggressive is good. Otherwise town just sits around waiting for something to happen. Being aggressive is a way to stir up discussion. Which is what town has to look at to figure out who is scum without depending on power roles. Which we may or may not have.

Perhaps both. But, anyway you look at it, Mephansteras is scum. I can tell. I'm awesome. And awesome people rock.
