Well, I'm all for putting fear of the LCS into the game as a mechanic, but I'm not sure what anyone else thinks about this.  You could also try blackmail - perhaps "Don't veto this proposition or you die to" or "Don't cast your deciding vote against us or we publish the pictures".  Actually, blackmail in general could be an interesting mechanic - you could use it for financial gain, direct political actions, votes in the supreme court and to create temporary "sleepers".

Actually, I might make my own thread about blackmail... hmm...

Yeah, I think general fear of the LCS would be a good mechanic.

Implement it not as just a blackmail mechanic but as a general mechanic for describing the LCS.
An example might be after killing enough of the guards at the entrance to the club, they just let you in. They are just lowly bouncers after all, if their previous colleagues were killed by the LCS they aren't going to risk their lives

of course being feared should make it harder to recruit people. I mean, its all well and good that people are joining to spread liberalism, but if word spread about the LCSs more violent side ...

Maybe the VP shouldn't be the same alignment as the prez for interesting gameplay.  As a hastily researched tabulation of the postwar vice-presidencies, I'd assign:

Obama/Biden: L/L
Bush/Cheney: C/C+
Clinton/Gore: L/L
Bush/Quayle: C/idiot
Reagan/Bush: C/C
Carter/Mondale: L/L+
Ford/Rockefeller: C/L
Nixon/Ford: C+/C
Nixon/Agnew: C+/C
Johnson/Humphrey: L/L+
Kennedy/Johnson: L/L
Eisenhower/Nixon: L/C+
Truman/Barkley: L+/L+

Which means that, ignoring Quayle (who was too stupid to fit on the LCS scale), half the tickets were the same, half of them weren't.  Most importantly there are the split tickets of Ike/Nixon and Ford/Rockefeller where the vp was very different from the president.  It's debatable whether such an extreme split could still happen given today's parties, but smaller splits are still quite possible since it's often advantageous for a ticket to have such differences.

Splits should already be able to happen in LCS, just not when the top of the ticket is L+ or C+.

I've never seen that.  Probably because I never see presidents who aren't L+ or C+.  :D

I've seen plenty of administrations like that, typically because I tend to prefer taking the long road without excessive violence most of the time, and thus achieve victory some several decades in, rather than in the first four years.

It can also be true for individual issues, too.  Johnson, for instance, was a lot more hardline than Kennedy when it came to foreign policy.

Surely this depends on the circles from which you're attempting to recruit?

Of course, but I don't think many groups would advocate violence that much.
