I didn't comment on the big fight earlier because I saw no reason to. A bit self preserving, yeah, but at this point, I would recommend dropping it (unless you think one side of the fight is scum, then continue). Over half the players need interrogation. I would myself, but Leafsnail's posed a good set of questions and, I care most about ToonyMan right now.

...No, that's not what I was saying. I'd explain more now, but it would be lackluster and I can only see it leading to more questions, so I'll wait until tomorrow when hopefully I can explain without inciting more questions.

First, to explain why I think Pandarsenic is town:

Either he's playing the most terrible scumgame he's ever run, or he's town.  Scumarsenic is bold, audacious, and confident.  He throws off other's accusations, with a tendency to jump badly after the first serious hit.  He lurks, posting only to throw more WIFOM in the works.  He watches himself very carefully for scumtells, and when he drops them he tends towards violent disagreement.  Recently, he's also gone into deflection.

When the votes pile on, he struggles and does his damnedest to get them off.  Here, he doesn't particularly care.  Certainly, he argues... but not with the usual virulent opposition.  He reasons things out, with no bullying, deflection, or denial.

(For what it's worth, he also starts rebuttals with player names more frequently when he's scum.  I.e. "Vector, that's full of crap and we both know it."  The grouping of himself with his opposition constitutes subtle buddying, which I have not seen at all here.)

This is either a Pandarsenic who knows his town meta so well that he has completely abandoned his scumgame--and who will be lynched as scum somewhere along the line, as an unhappy result--or he's town.  I'm willing to bet on that towniness with my life.

What, is it that unusual?  I don't have any compiled and in ready-to-post form in some text document somewhere, if that's what you're asking.  A feeling told me "I know he's town because of how he's talking," so I went and looked at all the memories I had of when you were scum.  It's a bit like going back to reread the threads in question, I guess, except my memories tend to be more about posting style than actual content.  Then I ripped the suitable memories--i.e., your behavior around confrontations--and trawled for patterns.  The result is the above post.

I don't exactly have lists for everyone, no.  Some people just get compared against my knowledge of all scum... and when they're good scum, I have a lot of trouble with them.  To be more specific, I know things like "what ToonyMan talks like when he's feeling awkward" and "what Dakarian does when he's offering up someone's neck on a platter."  For some reason, I fixate on small emergent behavioral patterns and details... like punctuation.  How someone interacts with a water glass when they want to buddy up to you.  How people breathe and talk when they're depressed and they want everyone to think that they're hiding it, but below that they really want you to find out and save them (though they haven't actually admitted it to themselves).

Er... to make a long story short, it's just how I deal with social things in general.  I ram them into the part of my brain that deals with patterns and hope something workable falls out (typically in paragraph form).  Unfortunately, this tends to result in a hilarious sort of seesaw between creepy knowledge of what people are feeling and amusing social dysfunction where I haven't figured out the pattern yet.  The worst part is when I know I'm supposed to do something theoretically simple like "be welcoming" and I have pictures in my head of what welcoming Vector might look like, but I can't figure out how to execute them and I end up looking like a callous jackass with a twitchy face who can't make eye contact.

Well, anyway.  It's a bit of a bee in my bonnet, as I'm sure you can tell.

Nah... there's literally nothing on there but $40 or so of curry and books (though admittedly I could see myself crashing my budget that way).  I was afraid I'd lost the bill somewhere under a stack of papers or something, but it just turned out that they hadn't sent it yet.  Go figure.

I'll admit, Vector's argument sounds convincing.  The question to my eyes is whether he's twisting his knowledge of Pandar's meta to suit his case or being flatly honest about it.

I think I'll be able to judge his attack style very soon and that will let me see just what I'm up against.

Unvote.  I don't buy it, Vector.  I sortof understand your argument for Pandar-is-town, but I really don't get your Pandar-is-right logic.  He isn't always right; he's generally a better player at scum than town, and even the best players get things wrong.  Nor your attempt to avoid a charge of lurking - you seem to have provided a different excuse here and in Semi Bastard.
