The poll results are in, and I'll be looking for interest in Second Chance Mafia. While it won't run until OLM is done, I'd like to see what the interest level is. All roles will have some kind of revival, and for the most part the revivals will be any time. I put out a sample role in Reply #5 if you want to see how I'll be using the revives for more interesting effects. I'm also going to be signing up 13 players this time.

Post any thoughts here, or PM me or post a role you think is really cool and would fit in with the theme. I also need someone to help balance the game, so PM me if you're interested.

Protections:
protect: stops one kill on a player, useable at night
doubleprotect: stops one kill on each of two players, or two kills on one player, night
dayprotect: stops one kill on one player, day
xuberprotect: stops all kills, superkills, and eradications on a player for a complete day phase and night phase, one time, any time

Inspections (all night):
Inspect: Learns win condition of target
Roleinspect: Learns Abilities and Effects of target
Reviveinspect: Learns Revive Condition of target

Kills:
kill: Kills one target, night
daykill: Kills one target, day
superkill: Kills one target, regardless of protections, other than xuberprotect, night
xeradicate: Kills one target, regardless of protections other than xuberprotect. Target will not revive, one time any time
mafiakill: any mafioso can do this, but only one each night. Counts as kill, night

Other:
communicate: You may PM with a dead player the next day, night
killfollow: Learn who killed a dead player, night
roleblock: stops a player from using any Abilities that night, night
xreviveblock: that phase, a player's revive condition is treated as "none", one time, anytime
revivesteal: target's revive condition becomes "none", you gain target's old revive condition, you lose this ability, target gains this ability, night

Green Goo: anyone who actions you successfully loses all Effects and Abilities and gains the Effect Green Goo
Deep: If you do not action that night, all Abilities on you fail
SK Miller: Inspect shows your Win Condition as SK Wins
Ninja: killfollow fails if you killed the target
Radioactive: Whoever you successfully action gains the effect radioactive. If he/she is already radioactive, he/she dies. killfollow flips "Radiation"
Ascetic: All actions other than kill category actions fail
Hated: One vote will be added to the votes on you at the end of the day
Purple: If you are successfully actioned on, you switch all Abilities, Effects, Revive Conditions, and Revive Effects with the actioner
Ice Cream: Whoever you successfully action loses all Abilities, Effects, Revive Conditions, and Revive Effects
Superscummy: Any successful action against you will turn into an inspect that flips mafia
Godfather: Inspect flips "Town Win"
Delayed: Abilities and Effects against you activate the next applicable phase
Tootownie: Successful actions against you turn into an inspect that flips town

Before this, there were more votes for SC than total replies, so I think that's what I'm going to do. Consider signups open for 9 players. Your role PM will be like this:

Win Condition:
Abilities: (Whatever abilities are, such as doc, cop, etc.)
Passive Effects: (These are things that you can't turn on or off. e.g Miller, Green Goo, etc.)
Revive Conditions: (e.g. 1 anytime, unlimited while BUDDY1 is present, etc.)

Meaning: Standard SK until death, at which point gains one situation-based revive and chooses one of 4 types of kill. Remember that this is an example, and necessarily going in. It's just showing how I'll use the revivals to create interesting effects. Nothing in your role will be hidden, whether on death or otherwise.

Interesting..timing with the game that's in my head that I plan on showing off later.

For now though, yah, I'm in on this one.  Balanced or not balanced, it looks crazy.

However, I have a suspicion that the next games to go will be after christmas.  It seems a good many people have disappeared during the christmas vacation.

I think I understood the rules (I'm new), but I'd still like to query about the revive conditions.

e.g. If I have 1 anytime, does this mean I can revive myself anytime I want (even _during_ the Day/Night) or do I have to PM you ahead of time at which time phase I'll revive. Or did I completely misunderstood?
