So, I've just got a new computer, found Dig deeper, installed DF, and I'm getting this weird scan line across the game screen thats only there when I play Dwarf Fortress. Is this something I've got to fix in the Init or is this a new feature? Sorry if this is the wrong section I'm extremely tired.

Maybe your video card driver is bugged. Maybe you have different screen aspect ratio set in the init file than that of your monitor (default for fullscreen is 800x600). Did you try windowed mode?

Windowed mode is giving me a blank Black window. I've tried changing the resolution. Its now the same as my computer monitor and Its made no difference I've also tried setting my windowed mode to 800 by 600 but that gave me the same thing.

In short, Windowed = Black Screen
Full screen = Weird scan lines

Multiple resolutions tried.

Do you use the original version? Did you try 40d16? Do other games work?

other games work, im using 40D13 now because thats what Dig deeper seems to demand... and I havent tried the original or 40d16, commencing now...

Edit: seems almost worse in DF40D and the same in Df40 16

This is important.  Make sure your drivers are up-to-date.

Also, in 40d16, try tweaking the PRINT_MODE in /data/init/init.txt and see if that helps.

Odd.. Wonder who in the world it was... Either way Does Dig deeper work with 40d16?

Yes, any mod that works with a 40d version will also work with any other 40d version.

Try enabling VSync in your init file.

And the black screen in windowed mode could be caused by an incorrect filename in the FONT: or GRAPHICS_FONT: part of the init.  Make sure the filename and extension for your tileset match in your art folder and init file.

Turning Vsync on only seems to slow the scan line.  Would it help if I took a screenshot for you all? I'm running out of Ideas, nothings worked so far.

Have I mentioned how tired I was last night, I completely missed this post the print mode seemed to do it, swittched it to ACCUM_BUFFER, yet to see if this will affect my frame rate however.

I also think I need to mention that if all goes well, every dwarf who achieves great deeds will be awarded with the title of Footkerchief! (Thanks!)
