More importantly, why wouldn't they have the same rights as humans?

As in, if you can't get a real wife, why would you be able to get a clone wife?  Since there wouldn't be a difference.

The clones or the virtual wives?

Edit: Wow, super ninja'd.  Better write something else now.

I guess, if they copied your memories, the clone would be to some extent consenting in being cloned, which would remove one dilemna.  On the other hand, looking after them all would be tough... and then there's the "Clones stole our jobs!" issue to deal with.

Why would you want two cloned russian wives?

You'd need vodka that is twice as strong, or twice the vodka :P

Look Kael, didn't you mention somewhere that you have a girlfriend that loves you? Then why not have TWO girlfriends that love you?!

All of this is assuming that the clones start out at the age of the person they're cloned from, as opposed to simply born naturally, and growing up normally, only with having genes identical to someone else.

No.  There is no way that would fly in court.  As soon as the clone is born it would become a new person.  The mind isn't static, and I highly doubt the clone would like being a sex slave.

Let them.  If the clones want to do our work for us (And you seem to have somehow gotten sentient-but-loyal robots and clones mixed up somewhere along the way) then we can transcend into a perfect classless system where everyone gets everything they want and no one has to work.  Of course, the clones aren't just going to stand around and let us do that  because they're clones, not robots.

I love her very much, but having two of her would be a recipe for disaster in more ways than we can ever possibly imagine.

But also totally hot, so I suppose there's that going for it.

You're right, clones aren't robots, but videogame characters ARE! Programmed to love, they will make the perfect wives, and therefore Wyna and I should be allowed to marry.

Why does that make me think of the stepford wives?

Once tried to conquer Earth, and succeeded! Too bad it got really, really boring, really, really fast.

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

Please people, me and my friend are depressed enough because we're unable to get any girfriends (or boyfriends :P)

It's not that we're not looking for them, or being too shy to even say hi, but the thing is they are eighter taken, or don't like us.

Which gives a question:

So he married a video game girl. Did she have enough free will to say no to him?

A minigame might have been involved.

I didn't suggest having them as sex slaves.  I'd suggest giving them equal rights.  Then again, if they have your memory, then they are, to some extent, prepared to have a copy of themselves walking around...

No, I mean as in the whole "Immigrants took our jobs!" issue.  I'm sure some people would complain that we were here first and the clones have no right to be here at all ::).

So what you're saying is that announcing "I want a clone" mentally prepares me and makes me accepting of the idea of being created in a lab because some guy wanted me?

Because that's what you're saying.

Well, if the memories are copied, then to some extent, yes.  You know there's a chance that you'll turn out to be the clone, and so on.

(Of course, this isn't ever going to be possible, but...)
