Legolord don't bother telling me what I already know. And while I CAN move why SHOULD I? Is it too unfair to give us equal rights?

Dammit there goes the headache... Nap time...

The only thing that really bothers me about stuff like this is that this actually managed to happen, but why can't me and Milly get married?

It's headache iducing.
Why cant you?

I dont understand...
Think of the names:  Sofia & Milly.
Then put those names in America.  That's it, pretty much.
I still dont get it, there are plenty of places they could get married.

It's against the law in some states.  Jokes and exaggerations aside, Texas is indeed Texas.

What, so non-existant secks isn't enough anymore, they want non-existant marriage aswell? Pfft.

Japan's culture is odd though, they allow stuff they wound't normally cope with if it amuses people or can be used to make money. Japanese society doesn't like teh gheys, but its awwwright to have them in the media so they can make money out of semi-homosexual love triangles in their shows and whatnot. Same thing with black people, chinese, and WWII when they're not busy picturing japan as a victim of them cruel white american devils.

No, really.

From what I read, basically this dude is actually just doing a big performance art project based around the wedding. He is not really serious, it's all part of the act.

What?  I can't even tell what you're trying to say.

Yes, hypocritical bastards are behind this.  And yet Britain can hardly claim moral superiority while the issue of homosexual members of the clergy is threatening to cause a split in the church...

And Dakk, please stop with the unfair racist ranting.  Yes, from the media reports I've seen of Japan, it looks fucked up.  But you know what?  If I were to go from media reports alone, America looks a lot worse.  Sensationalist stories can give a very skewed impression.

Wait, Sofia wants to get married but can't because of stupid American laws?
That makes me sad. :'(
I second that you should move, preferably to Sweden, it needs to be more chaos here. :p

If you meant fox news, then I totally agree.

Of course he is not serious. Its a character from a videogame.

Thats like someone marrying Mona Lisa.

Well I mean its like why would you want to stay if you dont have any rights. Her argument makes me think of a slave thinking " Is it too unfair to give us equal rights?" and just staying a slave.

Except the slaves dident have a choice so Im confused...

Well, to be fair it's more a matter of State Law then US Law. There *are* states where they could get married, just not many.

And I totally agree with her that she shouldn't have to move to get equal rights, I'm just being realistic. If *California* will pass a law banning same-sex marriage I don't think Texas will be getting it any time soon.

I feel for you Sof, but I think we'll have to wait for more of the older generations to die off before the majority of states allows it.

Not only does Texas already have a law forbidding same-sex marriage, but it goes one Constitution-breaking step farther by refusing to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states.

Long story short, no Federal court is willing to touch it, but an ugly legal reckoning is only a matter of time.
