Alright so in my lifetime people have married: Babies, Animals, and Their daughters

And now someone is marrying someone who doesn't exist?

Somehow this really goes above and beyond.

Marrying over an MMO makes a lot more sense to me and marrying an imaginary character isn't a natural extension. (it would be like saying the natural extension of a Tim Hortons wedding is marrying a Dohnut)

Basically everything that filters out of Japan and into America is utterly tongue-in-cheek or otherwise passed along with a wink. We're just not in on the joke.

Marrying an animal happened in India

That doesn't really have much to do with my point. The point is that, they aren't taking it seriously, and when we do, they just laugh.

Well I figured it was a joke when people actually bothered attending.

But I don't realy appreciate the joke so much.

Can we have one, just one thread, about a crazy guy that doesn't turn into country-bashing psychoanalysis?

No because the people who tell us this, do so in a manner where they attempt to make us believe they are crazy.

The only thing that really bothers me about stuff like this is that this actually managed to happen, but why can't me and Milly get married?

It's headache iducing.

It's not a real wedding.  He doesn't get tax breaks for living with his computer, his videogame doesn't get hospital visitation rights.  Or whatever the Japanese equivalent of those things is.

As for you and Milly, that's a damn shame.  Kinky you wuss, get back in the game.

You live in US, yes?
'Cause our country is full of crazy extreme conservative fundamentalists.  Like Rush Limbaugh.

Think of the names:  Sofia & Milly.
Then put those names in America.  That's it, pretty much.
