Jesus Christ
« on: December 17, 2009, 07:51:18 am »

I just sat through all of Transformers 2.

One of the least fulfilling experiences of my entire life.

Discuss terrible movies ITT

After it, I watched The Darjeeling Limited, which was very good, especially by comparison.

Discuss good movies ITT as well.

Has anybody seen Baraka or any of the Qatsi movies?

I thought this was a thread about, well... Jesus Christ.  :D

Transformers 2 wasn't exceptionally bad. It lacked the sincere levels of badness required to make it either good or just abysmal, for example. It was a mediocre movie, in terms of badness. Although I kinda wanted to turn my brain off when that giant robot's "wrecking balls" were claning together.

The script was three movies meshed together, I noticed when watching it, confirmed it with google.

The highlight of watching Hero was dropping my glasses.
It was boring and pretentious.

The Jet Li one?

Or... the Enrique Iglesias music video?

Haha.

I saw about half of that movie with my dad.  It was hilarious.

Try watching 'The Room' or 'Manos: The Hands of Fate' and afterwards Transformers 2 won't seem so bad.

Note: I cannot be held responsible for any mental damage done while watching these films, nor any physical damage you do to yourself or others trying to escape them.

Manos was the best movie I've ever seen.

Legion, coming out 2010, promises to be craptastic.

Here is another really bad movie you might actually want to see: Shoot Em' Up.

Its horrifically bad in many respects, but at the same time it throws conventions completely out the window.

Plot? Dialog? No, I think I will just shoot everyone in the face.

action movies can have  no plot. I consider anything in between the action to be transitions to more action.

In that case, you will love Shoot Em' Up. The movie is almost all action scene with little transition between.

This is why G.I. Joe became a good movie to me.

I have a terrible fascination with bad movies, mostly ones with an unintended quality that make them watchable. There's the kind of bad movie that manages to be charming because of its own cheesiness, and then there's the kind of bad movie that makes you angry... full of hatred for its makers. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen fell under the latter category for me. I've never had any love for Michael Bay's work, but there are worse filmmakers out there.

I'm looking at you, Richard Kelly.
