Ok I may be unaware of the timeline but didn't this game come out before World of Warcraft in light of the games that play themselves freeware that were comming out?

While other "RPGs that play themselves" had maybe one or two buttons. Progress quest required none of it.

The most interesting part - it is the first MMORPG that I like.

Ah, I miss this game. I used to have a Demi-canadian something or other that could really progress the quests.

Also, the first two pages of this thread are pure forum gold.

Dang, I forgot about this. I kinda wish I'd left a game running somewhere.

Hmmm
I'm setting up a time lapse this spring, I'll run this on that computer.

I know it is the joke but... I am just in a bad mood today

- Over 20 races
--They do NOTHING!
- 18 classes and counting
--They do NOTHING!
- No need to keep on clicking to grind
- Great storyline
--No, if you pay attention the game actually lacks a strong story even within the confines of the parody. Unless you think a major chapter to give a girl a cookie is vital.
- More you level the older you get
--Same with all games
- Guild Support
--Interesting I don't remember this.
- All this in less the 400KB!
--Yep!

I hate it when games advertise themselves with points that are negated within the game.

It is like if Oblivion advertised itself with "we have over 20 classes! Make your own!". It is true just not significant.

Note: Yes I am aware that is the point. That it is pointless.

We have over 50,000 Cred! However, our guild is still merely a band, scarcely more than a triviality. We need more brave adventurers to go out there and execute the wildlife!

Actually, I find that chapter to be the main highlight of Progress Quest. After that, it just goes downhill from there.

The worst part is when you end a chapter in the middle of a quest.

I preferred the plot twist in Act IV where you
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
but then
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I didn't see that coming, at all.
