Suing under Copyright is a way of trying to get money for something thats already gone wrong, it doesnt stop it happening.

It also assumes that the person abusing your Copyright has some money that they can give you, following the court case.

Microsoft have money, your average amateur coder does not, I guess.

Short answer, while copyright offers a good deal of protection, it is up to YOU to enforce it.
The court provide the power for you to enforce it, but ultimately you are the one to do it.

Which is why Toady probably doesn't need this hassle for any foreseeable time.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.
