Might join I'll join

But considering the fact that you had to go sometimes when Kinseti GM'd makes me kinda doubt that this will work.

ALSO:

I have no idea how D&D 4 works. I only know 3rd edition

Well, we've already got six players, so I'll put you on a waiting list.

As for the internet, it's cleared up now, so we'll be fine.

Who should I play as, I wonder? I'm fairly certain going melee will get me killed again, trying magic will end badly for the party, and I don't think I can play a rogue properly. This leaves me with a marksman-type, or someone whose magic isn't likely to kill, i.e. a cleric. What class should a new player play as, how do you think?

4e is a lot different.  All of the classes are equally useful now.  Play what you want to play.

Equally useful isn't what I was looking for, but alright. I'll go look through those books then.

I honestly don't know what would be best for a new player.

Fighters are usually pretty simple, and I'd assume that carries over to this.  As for dying quickly, the game's a lot friendlier and I'm not one of those people who treats the PCs as his enemy, although I can be that way when I want to.  When I was little my parents would force me to let my sister play, and I'd just kill her in the first encounter.  She wasn't that smart though, she once tried to play as a party of two rogues.  One of them walked directly into a gelatinous cube within five minutes of entering the dungeon.

Well that's what you get when you place a child in the average dungeon. Swimming a massive cube of Jell-O is the average tyke's dream.

In other news, I have a rough draft of my character idea up.

Don't list deities, I'm going to come up with my own.

How do we assign ability scores? Standard array, point buy, 3d6?

I've made a character with an online builder app. Tell me if there are any glaring flaws (which there shouldn't be).

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Can anyone help me transfer this stuff over to myth-weavers? I'm not sure what goes where...

Color me interested.  Add me to the waiting list or whatever.  You might remember I ran a couple sessions of 4e for people.  I could make time one evening a week on any day, and my timezone is GMT-6.

I've been interested with the idea of a cleric on the run from the church that empowered him ever since 4e made it so clerics couldn't lose their powers.  In this case, I'm thinking a cleric empowered by the church of Anzanu.  He has come to believe that all the problems with the world are because the earth god has been split into the four elemental gods.  His goals include the revival of the earth god's cult, and the rebirth of the earth god by way of sacrificing the elemental gods.  Dislikes elementals.

That sounds good, but there are six elemental gods, not four.  I wasn't finished :3

The history and setting sounds like great fun, I think I'll enjoy this. I think I'm going to have some conflicting deities here, and have my character worship both Saltus and Kardus, since he wishes to embody the heroism and selflessness of a true paragon, while at the same time wishes to overthrow the ruler of Civonia (Now that I know the kingdom, I'm going to work in some backstory that my character uses to justify his revolt. Whether it is true or just his own ramblings to justify his crimes will be up to you, of course.)
