I'm wondering, do you have any plans to take back the county that went independent? Or are you planning to live and let live?
mind you have have through the end of 1138 played, but as of the end of 1134 (the last update post):
I have no plans to touch the province any time soon. I am just trying to stabilize the realm and recover  my reputation. And if I were to take back the province, I sure as hell would not leave Nikolaz as ruler. I'd annex out of spite. And that mean reputation loss, so thats not even worth thinking about until much later, when I have reputation to lose...

edit: stability affects stability in your realm. there are ( I suppose) less revolts, events are generally more positive and things like that. I don't really know, but -3 stability makes things messy sometime.
Stability is very significant. The last time I had +3 stability I was getting the 'extra tax' event every year. It gave me 1-2k instantly, so I continuously gave scutage rebates to my vassals until my kingdom was at the forefront of development in Europe. Never underestimate stability.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu..

So, I restarted as the count of Vest... Something in Russia. Less then 20 years later, I went from a mere count to 4 prince titles and several count ones, I have 3 vassals but I need more since I can only control 4 provinces directly. My ruler is a prodigal, valorous, romantic, lustful, experienced tactician... Pure awesome really, and my wife is a midas touched steward, quite awesome. But the damn woman has only given me one child in these near 20 years, and its a GIRL  :'(

I know I got this early events in my life and made my count prodigal, but lowered his fertility by -3 :/, he still got a child though, and now he became lustful. If I don't get a child in a few years, I'm afraid I'll have to take drastic measures, but I don't wanna murder my wife, she's too good of a steward.

My reputation is tarnished somehow, also. Maybe its all the wars I've been waging and titles I've been creating/grabbing,  but it doesn't matter a whole lot as my prestige can more than make up for it and keep everyone loyal, and my piety isn't bad also (more then 900 prestige and near 500 piety).

I fear I might have to murder my wife or change the laws to allow my only daughter to succeed me, If I don't get a son anytime soon.

And the greatest Irony? My best vassal is a damn brilliant prodigal pagan BOY, completely loyal to me despite our religions, I'm sure he'll become an incredible ruler once he reaches adulthood, because he already is! I gave him a count title, his stats right now are better then alot of adult courtiers.

1135
Our new year celebrations seem to have gotten carried away- admittedly I had quite a lot to drink, but Bean-Alban says I was very lustful, even if I don't remember the night very clearly
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I pray it is a healthy boy... the realm needs more capable rulers, like me
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My mother warns me that so many children so quickly may wear Bean-Alban out...
On another note, I have moved to Ryazan. I am ready for a change of environment.

I've been in a good mood recently, and have allowed the court to persuade me to act un-lordly and give in to the Karvuna rebels demands
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
They can thank me for not taking their lives...

Years of revolt and turmoil has affected Severin
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
A thieves guild is showing its presence. Good, those ungrateful peasants deserve to be terrorized.

It seems word is getting out that I am willing to negotiate with rebels
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Ryazan rebels have presented demands... it was difficult to stay myself from having them all killed.

It seems my wife is unhappy with me
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I have been so busy dealing with rebels and other realm issues that I have not been looking after her happiness. Maybe she caught wind of my infidelity with that shepherdess...
I offer her a token of goodwill
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Back to debt!

I've given up with these swine
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I don't bother any more and just let my chancellor deal with them.

And deal my chancellor does!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I give the rebellions one more year... I will remain lenient for now, but in one year I will return to zero tolerance. Hear that rebels! You have one year! March 1, 1136 will be the start of my new and improved rebellion=death program!

It seems my announcement of unconditional rebel murder did not go off so well in Karvuna
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
No matter, my marshal will take care of them swiftly...

What the hell happened!?!?!?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My money disappeared! When I went to ask Bean-Alban where it all went she gave me an unconcerned shrug!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Aaaaaaarrrrrrgggggggg! 670 gold in debt!

My first daughter
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I was sure to take the child away from Bean-Alban immediately as a form of punishment.

My chancellor says another rebellion has been dealt with
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
dealt with in an un-lordly way:-/

Given the financial position of the realm, I have instituted scutage to expedite economical recovery
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I have also received word that my brother has fallen ill
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
His severe wound probably contributed to his poor health... I am sorry for sending him into battle.

1136
A new year
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The realm is stuck in a cycle of revolt and debt, it seems. Income remains high, but ti should be noted that nearly 30% of revenues are from newly introduced scutage... without the scutage I'd be earning far less.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I am still young, with three children, two being sons.

Interesting news:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
it seems the Papal State must have been destroyed, for it just came back in Zagreb. If the Pope really was in touch with God, that would not have been possible...

Rebels in Rostov
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I gladly order my marshal to destroy them... Come March my rebel lenience deadline hits... I look forward to watching hangings...

While looking through my family line I came across an interesting fact
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Janos Arpady, the King of Hungary, is my aunt's great grandson. My dad's sister's son's son's son...

We are forced to sell a library in Turnu
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
How I hate debt...

My sister Zoe is grown
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
She became a hole in the pocket...

Another debt was called and we had to sell the Rostov forestry
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I do not feel bad for the peasants out of jobs... maybe had they been working harder instead of revolting I'd have the money to keep their place of employment open...

The court of justice in Rostov was destroyed by insurgents
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I am furious. My March 1 deadline has passed. There is no more negotiating with these animals, only executing.

My son Xenophon is 5
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
He is quite the negotiator his care takers say, I will try to round him out as a capable man by sending him to train in the army.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I think he may turn into a great lord one day...

This really isn't going well... That money hit was just plain nasty, evil wife! Maybe she should have a little accident...

Ooooh but no, she was too clever to let me do that!
First, she bankrupted the realm, preventing me from paying an assassin in my rage- clever clever
As a result, I have to wait and 'cool down' a bit while recovering money... so by the time I am out of debt, I may not be so furious and more likely realize that she is popping out sons for me... sons I want, a lot, seeing how the Synadenos family has a knack at getting themselves wounded and/or killed...
Add on the fact that, despite her thieving, she is still the best steward I have by far... to replace her now would result in like halving my income, income I need get get out of the debt she put me in... Vicious huh?

Once you're out of debt you can hunt around though for a wife with higher stewardship and preferably younger too. If you kill of the current one and marry the new one you get some money and prestige when you marry.

I for one support the idea of murdering annoying wives, I offed mine and got me a lustful 16 year old one, and in 3 years she gave me 3 times more children then that hag gave me in nearly 20 years, finally I have proper heirs.

Meet prince Oleg, the mighty who would be mightier if he had moar intrigue.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I need to start handing out titles again. And yes, vicious wives that just happen to be amazing stewards are to lords what mayors are to fortresses, annoying as hell, but the consequences of taking them out may be far worse.

I offed mine once and it was the best decision my monarch made. His grand-son followed suit, and he soon was left with no vassals and no courtiers, but with a perspective of living the rest of his now-thirty-something life with a nice "kinslayer" trait. And yes, he had a good spymaster.
Don't do it, unless you're really out of options, or have thousands-worth of prestige to counter the loyalty modifier.

The default one I think, one happens to be a bastard I got out of my attempts of becoming lustful. I keep him around hoping he'll become a nice marshall for me, since my current one, even though I got him an amazing wife (which is my new steward with amazing 16 stewardship) and bribed him once so he doesn't leave, wanted to leave me again so I sent him to prison for being a spoiled brat (he's like, 19).

A new year

We are finally out of debt, but still plagued by inefficiency and a tarnished reputation
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Even I am only rather loyal to myself, given my international reputation.

Blast!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
M vassal has lost a province to rebels! I knew he was having some trouble, but I just assumed he would be capable of handling the situation himself. I was wrong.

Despite her distrust of me, I still have my way with Bean-Alban
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I am Prince after all.

The Synadenos curse strikes again!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My brother, Kaloyan, is dead. It seems his severe wound and illness caught up with him.
His title has passed on to Kuman Tarchaneiotes
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
While he has some of my family's blood in him, it is only from his mother...
The boy comes in to power rather disloyal to me- but I have confidence his loyalty will improve. I'm just too diplomatic for him to resist and my Feudal Contract law helps too- all despite my reputation. Some members of my court have suggested I relinquish my claim on Karnten to improve my standing; Never. Nikolaz will be punished...

Back again
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Sheesh...

Now that I finally have money to spend again I will build a church in Karvuna
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
it will help promote peasant loyalty. I also feel my enforced scutage is no longer necessary so I drop it to zero.

I've stopped loving a wife that doesn't love me back
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
but I retain her as steward, possibly foolishly.

I send my one year old daughter to be raised by monks
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Maybe it will help improve my standing with the church...

The Count of Krizevci has insulted me!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I do not want to risk reducing our relations too much so I swallow it, but bear a grudge.

Petar Count of Samos wants to marry my sister
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
While my dad may have had issues with with this, I do not. I accept.

Revolt spreads to back to Severin
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Should any rebels be rounded up, I will hang them without question.

Another son!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
He will be named Macbeatha
