I read somewhere that an AI that is more than weakingling tends to attack more nations more often, leading to death and destruction on both sides.

yes. I should have mentioned that:
DO NOT PLAY WITH AGGRESSIVE AI
It just messes stuff up because they get  themselves killed stupidly way too much. Cowardly and weakling are not too easy- in fact, they make for a better game experience (and harder, since you will be against bigger more powerful enemies that don't just stupidly destroy themselves)

Also, if it isn't obvious, I didn't manage to get an update in before leaving for the holiday.
Sorry, won't have a chance to play until Tuesday at the earliest.

Eh, I restarted as a count in Sweden after I got excommunicated with my other count, making my courtiers hate me and leave me after a while. Things are going nicely now, while I lack any real geniuses to back me up, my character is a great marshall and alone took 5 lands (one belonged to a count who insulted me in a tournament, I demanded compensation and got a claim on his county, then just moved in and kicked him out, and the other 4 were pagan provinces) and made myself into a duke. Now I'm knighting my sons as they come of age and planning to wage war on some more pagan tribes till I'm powerful enough to take on the kingdom of sweden or norway.

EDIT: Crap, the Kingdom of Norway declared war on my duchy, probably because their snobby king has claims on 4 of my 5 lands. I'm gonna be forced to offer myself as a vassal to his rival (king of sweden) to fight back at him. With some luck, I'll be able to take some lands from him and maybe eventualy usurp his throne, but it'll take a while, and my duke is getting old, and my two oldest sons (both counts) aren't great marshalls, I only hope my youngest one finishes his education on the army to make up for it when I die. I'm still quite fertile, but my wife is getting old also and had a miscarriage last time, I hope I get me 2 other heirs before death catches up with me.

Sometimes I think the stress and anguish of worrying about heirs is the most fun part of the game:-)
So often do you have well laid plans that end up going horribly wrong (take my groomed heir in the LP dying, for example). But in the end, it all makes things more fun:-)

I need help.

There's this guy I keep trying to steal his titles, my army utterly crushes him, but when his liege shows up my guys book it and run despite outnumbering the enemy and taking less losses in the extremely short battle with the liege.

My Marshal has awesome skills, so what's up? It might have something to do with my low martial skill, and it having me leading the army...

I am at war against a person, count of x and y. my problem is: where is y?
I remember finding a province finder some time ago, but random keyboard mashing couldn't bring it back. Does anyone know about this or where Vyzama is?

Yea, is there any kind of province-finder? I often notice that I can't find the province of whoever I'm at war with.

When you get the Declairation of war, pause the game and click the shield on the message.

that works only for their main province. when they have 2, and it is the second that you need to find, it becomes a bit harder.
anyway, he accepted the peace I asked, so it is all ok now. And I am happy with my warrior king ( 20 martial skill) which created a nice duchy in few years.

I have a child duke, he became duke of Sardinia and Salerno when he was 11, in 4 years he has convinced a new count to swear fealty to him, taken 2 new provinces which he manages at 100% efficiency (His father had 3 which ran at 95% so he now runs 5 provinces.) Soundly defeated a rebelling count and replaced him with a very loyal bishop and tucked a third duke title under his belt.. It was a shame about the rebelling count though, his son was a friend of my duke and he was 60, if he had of remained loyal for long enough to die I would have had a good reliable vassal in his son who had 20 martial and 15 intrigue.

And check your troop composition.
Army composition is like a rock paper scissors matchup. I forget which unit types are better against which, but his army may be heavy with a type that is superior to a unit your army is heavy in
