If that works I'll stick to just resizing them 60% then.
It is not too hard to do and takes no time.

I didn't get any CK play time in today- oddly enough I wasted hours playing flash games, which is strange because I generally do not like cheap flash games... Oh well.

I am interested to see what happens in the 'new' 1088. I was really disappointed when the game crashed, because the crazy twist between the count and wife was... well... crazy.
Maybe it will happen again:-)

When a son/daughter comes of age, find him/her a Russian wife/husband if you can. With Byzantium collapsing, close relations with the Russians will grant you vital support when the Muslim forces get to your lands.

Even then I am concerned.
I was hoping to make friends with the Prince of Kiev (he was prolly the most powerful of the Rus lands), possibly even send a son or two as a fosterling, marry a daughter off, etc.
But then Kiev went *poof*
It kind of caught me by surprise.

Croatia has stayed relatively... stable... the last many years- but that dick Duke of Slavonia makes me not want to be their friends.

Hungary is another option- but I am afraid to get too close to such a powerful kingdom- that will limit my possibilities for growth.

I don't portray it in my reports too well but: I am seriously afraid.
It is no surprise Byzantium fell (their laws pretty much screw them from the start), but I figured it would be more to internal strife than foreign threats. But what happened is that the turks cleaned house while the emperor was tied up fighting rebellious vassals. So now Seljuk Turks are sitting just provinces away, and I am not too sure how hostile they will remain.
What I am really hoping for, in an out of character way, is that the turks will suffer from the 'grow fast, fall fast' principle. I'd like to see some lords break away from that kingdom, creating a splintered mess- somewhat like the former Byzantium is now.

Hm...

We need to make Hungary PISSED with the Muslims. That way we can get military aid, a lack of annoying peace treaties, and we can retake Ex-Byzantian lands for your sons.

I like this idea.
The easiest way I can think to do that would be submit to a Hungarian lord (Duke or King directly) after friending him- then, declare war on the Seljuks. My liege would likely come to my aid and war as well. I could then sit back, let them fight, try and grab some lands and make peace as soon as possible... BUT, I would be stuck in the Hungarian kingdom...

If you can take enough land, you can focus on building up wealth and prestige, and work on getting you or a son set to move up in the political ladder.

When I told my wife about the dream I had, where she went blind and we hated each other- she was not amused.
But, it was just a dream...

Let's take a look at the current state of affairs:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I am earning a strong 6.29 gold, have over 2000 soldiers I can call on, and maintain a respectable reputation.
The realm is stable (+1), I have 100 gold coins, 191 prestige, and a meager 58 piety.
My personal intrigue is too low to properly run two provinces, so my realm's efficiency is suffering- it is at 90%.

My wife's illness evolved into intestinal worms.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Thats freaking gross.
But at least shes not blind, like in my dream.

At this point I am very disloyal to my liege.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Our personalities (traits) clash quite a bit. My loyalty is only on the decline.
I've been consulting with my advisers and they suggest I start looking for friends elsewhere. I am neighbored by the powerful Kingdom of Hungary, the established Kingdom of Croatia, and a number of independent Dukes and Princes like my own current liege. At my moment my relations are not the best with Hungary or Croatia.
Spoiler: Hungary Land (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Hungary King (click to show/hide)
The King of Hungary is blind, but prestigious despite that.
He is also rival to the pope.
The whole reason I worry about new allegiances stems from the turkish threat to the east- the same threat that essentially destroyed the glory of Byzantium.
But of most interest to me is the fact that the current King of the Seljuk Turks is Armenian
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The Duke of Slavonia is interested in some Springtime hunting.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We have had our issues in the past, but right now I realize I need friends. I will put the wellbeing of my realm ahead of my own pride. I go hunting with the man and develop a friendship.

Constantly on the lookout for ways to improve my family's standing- I realize I could easily grab my liege's count title.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It would be a major hit to my social standing amongst peers, but I would grow a province (my armies outnumber his, even if he calls on Naissus's troops).
I will keep this possibility in mind.

Woa... The Holy Grail.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I am not sure how I can turn this opportunity down. Surely putting an interest in the artifact will increase my standing with the church and bring me glory...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The quest will cost money. I also have the opportunity to bring my marshal, or send him alone.
Like hell I'll take that ass Nephon with me... He does not deserve the glory- that and going by myself is cheaper (~25 gold).
I will go myself, none shall hold me back!
Annnnnd I'm zealous.

As the year winds down I discover my daughter is an outrageous chauvinist.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I pity the man she marries.

1088 was an interesting year. My wife developed worms, I searched for the Holy Grail, I made a friend, and my daughter gained some interesting traits.

With the arrival of the year 1089 I will take a quick look at the world around me...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It seems Byzantium may have stabilized a bit. They are no longer warring the turks, but still have two rebellious provinces. A couple of independent realms popped up in Anatolia, some Muslim, some Christian.
The north east has developed a couple of larger states, and we can just barely see that Germany has essentially fallen into many different little states.
I'm alive and well. My sons are growing strong, and my realm remains able. Things are actually looking decent.

My boy Dorotheos is aging.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
For his 5th year birthday present I send him to train with the army. He will be a strong, capable soldier when he matures.

As the winter snows melt, I decide to spend my saved monies on a training-grounds in Belgrade.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It will speed my troops recruitment time and increase the number of troops supportable int he province.

Sheesh, my step-mom is just full of intrigue!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Age has been kind to her. She has only gotten more skill as the years passed. I hope she lives to be 70!

She may be selfish and have worms, but damn I love her
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My wife and I have established a friendship few counts can claim to have with their wife. I am chaste, devoted only to her.

WAIT. A. MINUTE...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My liege is married to Ripsime Baghuashi! That's the former Princess of Thrace I allied five years ago! I had lost track of her when her realm was re-captured by the emperor! I feared she was dead! Wow... interesting how these things go....

I've discovered the most interesting information:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It seems I have a claim on the title of Prince of Samos. My clerks managed to dig the info up from some old records, I doubt my father even knew.
Spoiler: Samos (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Samos (click to show/hide)
Samos is a poor island, and get this: they're allied to my liege...
Oh jeeze oh jeeze!
This is big- like- really BIG.

I can't turn down an opportunity like this.

With the claim I can war Samos. Since the Princeipality of Samos consists of just one province, should I take the land I should be able to easily force Konstantinos Kantakouzenos (the prince) to accept peace and grant me the title of Prince. I will not get the province Samos, but I will have the Prince title!
But oh boy oh boy there is more:
I could expend my prestige to make a grab on the title count of Samos... Then I could force Konstantinos to accept me as Count of Samos as well and I would get the province too.
OR I could instead make the grab on the title count of Vidin, like mentioned last year. Since My liege may side with Samos in the war, I'd be forced to defeat him anyways, if I grab his title I could possible capture the province of VIdin (a neighboring province to my own) AND the title Prince of Samos. Then I would eb free of my allegiance to Romanos and I would be up one province, with all of the clustered together...
Holy Moly I have options...
What should I do?!?!

EDIT: Damn, I'm like a giddy school girl at the end there... I just couldn't contain my excitement and was typing as fast as I could:-)
Now I just need someone to give me an idea of what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've recently got this game, but it routinely crashes around a month and a half in.

The last one, the last one!
DAMN STRAIGH SON.
And I can't even type straight properly I'm that excited!

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut I think I am going to wait until tomorrow to play more...
Let the suspense grow, ya know?
I may spend the last bit of my night trying out HellMoo- something about raping dead bodies is getting me all hot and bothered.

I've recently got this game, but it routinely crashes around a month and a half in.

Patched? Beta patched, that is?
When I first came back to the game recently after a like year or so hiatus it would not get past the loading screen at all for me- I reinstalled and it worked fine.
Possibly redownload and install?

Or... Post on paradox forums- those are some of the most loyal, bestest game forums I've ever seen.
