Depends, do you want to be an emotionless soldier or a human being?

I was hoping for vault 27, I would like to start with lower technology.

Question: Can we modify/craft our own stuff?

Like an Armored Vault Suit or fix up some old vehicle?

Well presumably if you have a vehicle that doesn't work the repair skill would have some value.

I think a precedent may have been set for chemically treating armour to make it more resistant to some forms of attack, but I wouldn't expect to see anyone building power-armour without designs and an appropriate facility.

Although it would make sense for someone building some Metal Armor or even build a bloody bike.

Well, building an engine or gearbox for example from scratch is a little tricky, and unless you find a decent source of petrol it may not be functional anyway. Although I would expect these sorts of projects to be possible in an RPG, it is one of the big advantages GMs have over computers... But be aware that some things just aren't possible without certain resources.

Okies, you folks can pick either team you like, but I'm not taking any more players who haven't posted something prior to this post.

To start out, you'll only be getting "basic" stuff, depending on stats/background/team/ect.

So no breaking my mental universe till after the game starts. :p

And, FYI, no petrol in Fallout; it was virtually all exhausted leading to the increased use of nuclear power.  Cars run on atomic power plants.  After 200 years, most are... unstable.  Hence why you don't see many vehicles functional in the Fallout series.

In the traditional sense of the word?  No, he's been dissolved in magma.

Vault zero.

Remember folks, nuclear power: contrary to all design specifications, it WILL blow up if you look at it funny.

Vault 0

Jumping into nuclear waste will not give you super powers but a slow painful death.
