Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been trying to revise some of the mechanics for a smoother flow and to make it more interesting for me. I don't have my rule book close to me right now but some changes are:

Magic - Mana cost are way to expensive right now versus it's cost. A spell cost 1 mana at level 0 and an additional 2 mana per skill level. I will change that to a 1 mana + (lvl mana) so a level 5 spell will now cost 6 mana instead of 13 mana.
Action points - I might remove it altogether, atleast in this game.
Some more stuff I don't remember.

Anyway, I will do a turn tomorrow now that I suddenly have a free day. Just a question for you guys: can I do an ass pull against you? I will only do it if you agree. Has nothing to do with your current equipment or skills to do but rather your situation.

The rat flies away from the force of the punch ending somewhere down the western hall. Frederick III gains 36 exp to Arcane Fist, totaling to lvl 2, 99 exp.

Almost to level 3 with Arcane Fist! Haha!

I cast Arcane Fist on the ratman.

Question: What's the process for gaining new spells?

Three ways:

Simple way - Try various things with your spells, such as with Arcane Fist. I imagine Arcane Fist as a spell that summon forth a fist which follows the dominant hand. You on the other hand might figure out a way to summon forth two hands, and suddenly you have a way to summon just one hand or two hands. There is a penalty that will hinder you from doing a successful first cast, but enough to learn the spell.

Standard way - Read from spell books, learn from mentors.

Ultimate way - Mastering a spell (25 levels) will most likely unlock spells similar to the mastered spell. This is not a recommended way but this is also the only way to open up several spells at once and to make that certain spell much more powerful.

Sorry. I'll continue fighting, hoping to pick up the dagger I threw.

If I find it soon, I'll throw it at the RatKing.

I'm a bad GM and I know it. Leaving the game alone for a whole week without even a single notice on why there is no action is a taboo here and I'm sorry about it. On the other hand I did my best to make changes to make the game more smooth. There are still chinks I haven't ironed out but I think I'm closing in on it. New for this turn and forth is that you are less restricted on movement. You may now walk as much as you want without using up ap, spells and abilities with mana cost cost less, bonus to damage is now a variable and not a constant so +5dmg is now +1-5dmg but you will still see it as a +5dmg, I put some pre- and post-turn stats making it easier for me keeping the score, and several things more. Note that none of these changes are retroactive or else I would have to redefine several things. Also, I have decided to take a bit more freedom on your actions as you can see, this mean that I will do what you state but I might add some additional attacks if your AP/MP allows it.

Pre-turn status:
Spoiler: Cheddarius (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Sir Knightington III (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Frederick XIII (click to show/hide)

Oblivious to the new threat Cheddarius decides to rid the pests once and for all. He pick the single rat first.

C: Dex30 +2 Bow Mastery> 28
r: Agi5 > 3
28 vs 3 = Hit
-1ap, -5mp
Bow dmg: 1-5dmg +2 (weapon bonus) +3 (Dex bonus) - 15% Quick Shot > 5dmg
You gain 45 exp to Quick Shot, totaling to lvl 2 and 81 exp.

Spoiler: Cheddarius (click to show/hide)

The rat is killed with no problem at all. Cheddarius then aim for the rat close to Knightington.

C: Dex30 +2 Bow Mastery> 13
r: Agi5 > 5
13 vs 5 = Hit
-1ap, -5mp
Bow dmg: 1-5dmg +2 (weapon bonus) +3 (Dex bonus) - 15% Quick Shot > 3dmg
You gain 18 exp to Quick Shot, totaling to lvl 2 and 99 exp.

Cheddarius feel a bit nervous to shoot the rat with his usual force because Knightington almost stands in the way. As the arrow hit the rat, it isn't killed, but it is moderately damaged.

Spoiler: Cheddarius (click to show/hide)

Frederick, who knows about the new threat determine it to be more dangerous than rats. Focusing his power he conjure an Arcane Fist.

F: Int30 > 24
R: Spr20 > 11
Location: Body6 > 5: Right arm9 > 1: Shoulder
-3mp
Arcane Fist: 3+2dmg - 11%3 > 2dmg
You gain 45 exp to Arcane Fist, totaling to lvl 3 and 44 exp.

Spoiler: Frederick XIII (click to show/hide)

Seeing as it isn't as effective as Frederick thought it would be, he tries again but this time he tries to conjure more than one at once.

F: Int30 > 4

He fails to summon a storm of fists and succeed only one almost transparent fist.

F: Int30 > 22 -2 from transparent fist
R: Spr > 4
Location: Body6 > 5: Right arm9 > 7: Middle finger
-4mp
Arcane Fist: 3+3dmg - 4%3 > 5dmg
You gain 36 exp to Arcane Fist, totaling to lvl 3 and 80 exp.

While Frederick didn't do any real damage the constant pummeling to the RatMans right arm has made it less accurate.

Spoiler: Frederick XIII (click to show/hide)

Knightington suddenly wants his wooden dagger again and retracts his steps.

Spoiler: Sir Knightington III (click to show/hide)

With it picked up he stands in a straight line to the RatMan and throws the dagger at it.

K: Dex20 > 7
R: Agi50 > 32
Wooden Dagger: 7 vs 32 = Miss
-1ap

But he miss, the RatMan is quicker than Knightington anticipated, dodging the dagger with ease.

Spoiler: Sir Knightington III (click to show/hide)

Closing in on the distance Knightington tries to duke it out with the RatMan instead.

K: Dex20 +1 Sword Mastery> 11
R: Agi50 > 29
Sword swing: 11 vs 29 = Miss
-3ap

Yet again the RatMan dodges.

Spoiler: Sir Knightington III (click to show/hide)

The RatMan decides to attack the closest target: Sir Knightington III.

R: Dex50 > 4 - 2 accuracy
K: Agi20 > 20
Right Paw: 4 vs 20 = Miss

Even though the RatMan is standing right in front of Knightington, Knightington magnificently dodge out of the way. Sir Knightington gains 66 exp to Dodge, totaling to lvl 0, 66 exp. In the slight window of opportunity Knightington Counter-Attacks.

K: Dex20 > 17
R: Agi50 > 49
Counter-Attack: 17 vs 49 = Miss

The RatMan continues his furious attack.

R: Dex50 > 24
K: Agi20 > 15
24 vs 15 = Hit
Location: Body6 > 4: Right leg8 > 2: Lower leg
Left Paw: 1-6dmg + 5 (Str bonus) > 8dmg

The left paw hits Sir Knightington III on the right lower leg. The damage makes Sir Knightington III Fatally Lucky, gaining 5 temporary luck and 45 exp, totaling to lvl 1 and 72 exp.

One rat decides to attack Cheddarius.

r: Dex5 > 3
C: Agi30 > 7
Rat bite: 3 vs 7 = Miss

The rat misses. Cheddarius gains 9 exp to Dodge, totaling to lvl 1 and 27 exp.

Spoiler: Rats (click to show/hide)

Two other rats home into Frederick.

r: Dex5 > 1
F: Agi20 > 20
Rat bite: 1 vs 20 = Miss

Frederick has no problem dodging the first rat bite. Frederick III gains 66 exp to Dodge, totaling to lvl 0, 66 exp. He even have time to Counter-Attack.

F: Dex10 > 6
r: Agi5 > 3
6 vs 3 = Hit
Counter-Attack: (1-2dmg + 3 (weapon bonus))/3 > 1dmg

The rat is hit but it just shrugs the blow off. Frederick III gains 36 exp to Counter-Attack, totaling to lvl 0, 36 exp.

Spoiler: Rats (click to show/hide)

The other rat attempts to bite Frederick.

r: Dex5 > 2
F: Agi20 > 2
Rat bite: 1 vs 20 = Miss

The last rat bite took Frederick by suprise. While he barely avoided being bitten it did scare the living light out of him.

Spoiler: Rats (click to show/hide)

Frederick feels a bit funny. His face shifts to a greener hue.
F: End20 -> 4
Needed poison resistance: 4
4 vs 5 = -1hp.

Post-turn stats:
Spoiler: Cheddarius (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Sir Knightington III (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Frederick XIII (click to show/hide)

The attributes has been added and other small errors I noticed have been corrected.

Hurray, it lives!

I'll first try a Multi-Arcane Fist on one of the rats attacking me, then I'll cast Mend Wounds on whoever is the most injured if there is time.

Awesome!
A couple of questions:
What does leveling skills do?
Do I gain dodge whenever I dodge an attack, or only in certain cases?

Leveling skills give a small bonus, right now for weapon masteries every level will give +1 to accuracy and +1 to damage every 5 level after level 0. For other skills or abilities things I do it case by case.

Dodging is whenever you successfully dodge an attack, either when attacked or when counter attacked, or when you avoid a hidden trap. The only thing you can't dodge are skills that I classify as spells.

Another thing now that I'm talking about spells, they are the only actions that isn't possible to dodge for now, and the +dmg bonus work different than other skills in that they will always do full damage, reduced only by the opponents spirit and resistances when appliable. So a spell that does 4+3dmg will do 7 dmg while a sword/bow with 2-4dmg +3 would do 2-7 dmg instead before resistance respectively armor.

Does this answer your questions?

Yeah, thanks! I have some more though, sorry.
Shouldn't we all have good dodge skill from dodging things all the time? I dodged something just this turn, but I didn't gain any xp.
How much AP does it take to fire and move and such? Can you maybe put that in the first post?
I don't want to nitpick, but before, you said you were going to reduce mana cost for skill to 2 or something, I think. But I still lost a ton of mana using Quick Shot this turn...

Perform Special Attack: Psyche Out!

Or, rather, fake an attack to have him parry, and hopefully, while he's attempting to dodge, smack him upside the head with my shield.

Also, little help, anyone? I'm going to be mince meat here!

You still have 17 health. You're tied for most health, actually. Keep tanking; if you get to 12 or so, retreat and meditate and I'll try to take out the demon ratman.
