Actually i have a question relating to mayday's title set...

its the keybidings...it took me quite a quite to get used to all the keys in DF and in mayday's aparently they are diferent....i first noticed that issue wen i tried to check the other levels in my area.

My question is , why are they diferent?

He used it before he uploaded it, so the init and keys are changed to his liking.
(He also removed the music, which sucks. I can't play Fortress mode without the music! D: )

I like Mayday's but I use Vanilla, too.

I like the Dorten 9x9 set. I can have it windowed at work and still see a ton of the map.

I use vanilla. Tilesets and creature graphics make the game look too messy.

I use Marble Dice's set because I wanted a square set like vanilla, but with simpler dwarf characters.

Mayday tileset, because I first started the game with that tutorial which uses it.  I like some graphical visuals, pure ascii is hard for me to parse...probably because I'm not used to it.  Still... I vote graphical tileset even if the text is a bit weird here and there.

Beefmo, they look interesting and catch they my eye better than other tilesets. That and I've modified it to have more interesting dwarves

There are two vanillas. Do you mean curses640480 or curses800600? I like the latter...or my own creation(16x16) that one dubbed "the Clock Radio Tileset".

100% Vanilla, no graphics sets, no tile sets, no visualization client ( 3DFort, StoneSense, Khazard, etc ) .

Just me, and a few shortcuts ( f1, f2, f3... etc ) .

Oh, and the default tileset ( for windowed mode ) is "curses_640x300.png" , and then there is the other default ( for fullscreen mode ) "curses_800x600.png" .
Cobalt, you are way of on the windowed default.

eh? Sufficient information was included to know what I was talking about, though.

I guess I was way too used to 640x480 vga mode back when I programmed.

Dorten's, slightly modified to return the "normal" characters in all cases (like the "bed" and pump" tiles are back to being theta and division)

I'm sort of neutral on pictoral tilesets because they can mess up text, but I think graphics sets are indispensable especially if you have a ton of modded in creatures. Eventually you run out of letters. Oh, and everything MUST BE SQUARE WAAAAAGGGGHHH.

I use maydayMIN, one of the non-default tilesets in the Mayday pack.  It's like the regular version except nearly all of the stuff that also shows up in menus is unmodified.

I wanted a square vanilla tileset, so I went for Hanuman, the first I found.

Seems to be just that.
