I agree with Ealbright.  I'll modify the thread title to seek an alternate, in case Euchrejack is still too busy.

Also, on the fixed starts question, this is a small map.  By the time long-range province-targeting spells start becoming available, anyone who wants to can have found their neighbors' capitals with scouts.

I've suckered Wiles into joining. He should be along shortly.

Hello, I'd definitely be interested in joining you all. I think I would like to give T'ien Ch'i try.  :)

The game is Bay12Games2, so as soon as you fling your pretender at pretenders[at]llamaserver[dot]net, it'll start.  ;D

Oh, you will need to grab and load CBM 1.6, and the Bering map, if you don't already have them. There're links upthread and on the above-linked game page if ya need 'em.

Yay, I've been replaced!

Although, the ease of replacing me certainly won't boost my ego... :D

Did you guys want me to modify the map so you can enjoy some randomness with land starting positions?  If you want it, I'll be glad to contribute, but it looks like it's not something you'd want.

Speaking strictly for myself, I'd rather start now than randomize land starts, create a new game with the new map, have everyone resubmit, and then start. But I'm all wet, so of course I'd think that.  :P

If you are still looking for a 1 more player, I would join. I'm not a newb, but not a seasoned vet as some others.

We have started, but you can be down as an alternate/sub.

So far everything seems to be going smoothly (knock on wood). Nicely done everyone!

I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

OUTRAGEOUS!!

The expansionist Atlantis already grabbed THREE provinces from the indigenous peoples! The abominable R'lyeh is not far behind. Gaia sheds tears of sorrow for the many native fish that got slaughtered, raped and abused.
Captain Planet says: something has to be done! Save the Planet! Free Willy! Preserve the natural flora and fauna of the Bering Strait!
Join LONG CON("Love, Openness, Non-violence and Generosity": a Confederation of O.k. Nations), and fight the enviromental dangers!

edit:eh, ok. Three is not four.

hahaha... ok so, question: The crowns on the map... are those the victory point provinces? And is it a victory point win? How many do we need to win if so?

(I'm really NOT a fan of the troops Caelum starts with... so hard to actually do things with)

I believe the victory points are disabled, so the crowns don't do anything really.

Oh ok good. The "Independents - 5" for the victory points chart got me a little nervous.
