Hello, Bay12ers. I've started working on a roguelike game, inspired of course by Dwarf Fortress, but also by others such as ADOM and UnReal World.

Aomo's Dawn is planned to be a roguelike with a focus on exploration and building. Combat will of course be an option, but the main focus of the game will be on interacting with civilizations (much like Legends mode in DF) and on a detailed crafting and building system. Interesting procedurally generated worlds will also be a focus. The game is still in early alpha stages, but I'm posting it here mostly to keep myself motivated while working on the project. Here's a screenshot of the current state of the game:

I'm using sprites from Battle for Wesnoth as placeholders. These will be changed before the game is actually released.

For anyone curious, I'm writing the game in C++ using SDL. Data files are stored in a simple XML format, in a similar way to DF's raw files.
