That combination cannot possibly end well.

Thousands sons? Their the good guys right? The best of the best from the best of times? Or are they the guys with the empty suits of armour? Meh, my 40k knowledge is really below par...

They're either psykers or empty armor, yeah.

Don't worry about the knowledge, though. I had to spend a few minutes looking it up to avoid starting with "a ranged weapon".

This is easily the most hilarious RtD I've seen here so far. I love 40k, and I'm glad you aren't letting this game die. I'd like to be on the waiting list. This is simply too awesome to ignore. Here's my profile.

Name: Adrien
Gender: Male
Faction: Imperial Guard Storm Trooper
Starting skills: Adept in marksmanship and explosives, can perform basic field surgery, trained in hand-to-hand combat (Not like it'll help much, considering what he's up against)
Starting equipment: Carapace armor, Hellgun, rations, first aid kit, frag and krak grenades
Background: Adrien's squad was given the task of making a deep strike into a key sector occupied by Chaos. However, the mission was botched, and he was forced to flee while his comrades were mercilessly slaughtered. Adrien was successful in evading his foes, and now he is struggling to survive in this hellhole.

Turn 24: The WAAAAAGH Shall Never Die!

I tell the tank to purge the forces of chaos, then start shooting at them with the inferno gun.

(3) You order the machine spirit to fire onto the heretics, but it seems the vehicle is too busy not getting the two of you blown to smithereens by friendly fire. You open up the gunner's hatch, and fire your inferno pistol at a nearby enemy (2) however a nearby explosion throws off your aim. (3) You are still being shelled by the base, but at least the chaos units have not noticed you quite yet.

"Hmmm, I need somewhere to store ingredients if only I had some sort of vehicle..."

Try to assemble a hybrid chaos/ork vehicle with the mekboy's assistance...

(6) You begin to get visions of a mobile battle fortress, blessed with the gifts of Nurgle, spreading the word and the plague of your dark god. The image would make you cry, if actually had the tear ducts to cry with. However, you know the same amount about mechanics as you know about proper hygiene. You look over to the Mek Boy and ask for his help. (Auto-success) The Mek actually has nothing better to do and is more than happy to help. (+1 debater)

Shake my fist violently at the disappearing Valkyrie, and then find someting interesting to do. Like fortify a nearby house, or block of tower or something, for a siege. Pick out a real nice defensible one, and gather supplies.

(3) There seems to be very little in terms of houses or towers, but there is a surplus in ruins. At least one of them must be somewhat stable. (2) However, your search is interrupted when you hear the sound of a nearby Suriken Pistol being fired.

"Oh dear god what the f*** is that?!? Shoot it! SHOOOOOOOOT IT!"

Keep attempting to make miro-milimeter holes in the nurgle thing with pistol

(4) Your arm jitters up and down as the monster continues advances, aiming the pistol at it. (4+1) The shot is easy, as the chaos spawn is almost a point blank range (6-1) you sever it's legs, and the creature begins to flop up and down like an air drowning fish, the weakened floor straining from the heavy weight. Maybe your best bet is to just run. Although chances are you'll fail that too. (+1 Markseldar)

I iz not mukkin' around! I iz doin... something, anything really.

(6) The spikky 'umie tells you about his idea, of a monster of metal and gears, stomping across the field of battle, armed with all kinds of weapons and able to destroy anything in it's path. Your eyes light up, forgetting about the part the chaos boy talked about corrupting the machine for his dark gods, as you begin whipping something up. (5+1) Your mind goes into that "happy place" and everything starts to become blurry as you enter a hypnotic state, furiously working on the project. Once you finished, you step away, proud of your master piece. The mech is slightly shorter than a Killa Kan, yet could easily fit you, the marine, and someone else inside through a hatch on the top. The right arm has a huge choppy bitz attached to it, while the left is a simple grabba hand, able to pick up any normal weapon with ease. The Chaos boy seems slightly disappointed in size and armaments, but you look at it with beaming pride. You note that this project had used up all the scrap metal nearby, meaning you will have to move to a more fertile grounds (+2 Mechanic)

Gather my courage. I've killed things much larger and more intimidating than another Ork.

"Da Blood Bruzas iz here fer a Waaaaagh! Dem funny-lookin' umies ain't givin us a good scrap no more; weez is lookin' fer da biggest scrap weez can find!

Now den, who're yoo supposed t' be?"

(4) You step up to the metaphorical plate, collecting yourself as you stare up at the other warboss, with fire in your eyes. You yell your little speech, your boyz watching in awe of your courage and girth. (4) The massive warboss stares you down, then lets lose a roaring laughter. "Ya got lotz a spunk (For those over the Atlantic, not that kind of spunk), I'll give ya dat. I'm Rignar Skullcrusha', and we iz about ta git inta a big scrap. Ya in?" Your boyz are surprised by the outcome, and you gain mass respect. (+1 Leader)

Go help that base! Chaos are bad, I think. They sure sound bad. But forget the hat for now, the other Voltron parts are more important. Well, I might actually want to save the base first. Maybe.

(6) You decide that for now the best thing to do is to return to the base referred to earlier. You chant the Liteary of Returning, then press the button labeled "Go". Or you thought, double checking you see that it's actually labeled "Turbo". You don't realize the ramifications of this until the Valkyire starts zooming at top speed. (4) You hang onto the steering wheel for dear life, zigzagging through building in an attempt to not splatter across the concrete. You bump into the scenery quite a few times, clip part of your right wing, and smash though a bridge, but you manage to keep thing thing afloat. (+1 pilot)

Appear, suddenly, without warning.

As you dig yourself up from the ground, recovering from your less than graceful landing, you begin to wonder as to why you're here. You hope that this is some small step in a great over reaching plan, and not the result of some juvenile sense of curiosity. However, the fact that you didn't die during the warp jump here and the resulting 20 foot drop must mean something.

Continue supporting Tooftaka

(5) Tooftaka's ferocity must be contagious, as the same fire in his eyes are now rampant among his boyz. Even Skullcrusha's nobz back down from the Blood Bruzas fearitude. [skill gained: Burning Spirit!! (yes, the extra explanation point is needed)]

REAG

(6) Enraged by the sudden attack and lack of mobility, the creature twists and turns violently in order to get anywhere. However, the floor of the ruins is less that stable, and begins to buckle. (2) fortunately, the building holds, although not for long.
