yeah, what's up with the food avatars? I've been meaning to ask.

This is going to be a bit of a ramble.

My mental jargon for "an intractable problem" is "a melon with no egg."  The melon represents an overall problem, but it's nearly impossible to crack without any specialized tools (i.e. knives).  An egg is an easy (or, at the very least, solvable) sub-problem, which allows the melon to be approached.

As you may or may not remember, my first avatar was a melon cut open to display its distinct lack of egg.  That was a rough summer.


Then we moved on to pomegranates, to go with KWN:DE.  I outlined their symbolism in the DE:Webby Chat already, so I'm not going to do that again here.


Eggs came up because I feel like I finally have some notion as to how to do something with the original "melon-problem."  Plus they're rounded, white, and food-with-contents (as opposed to food without contents, like curry).  This means that there's a logical structural progression with overarching tendencies (... i.e., a fancy pattern), and that the colors also fit the pattern in a connected fashion.

Dunno.  I might eventually move from food-with-contents to flowers, as I like floriography.  I just don't know how I'd get there yet (current guess is eggplant -> passionfruit -> passionflowers -> holly, if I wanted to make the change quickly).


I guess you could say that living in my brain is like playing a constant round of that one game where you turn one word into another word by changing single letters.  When there's a "logical" progression, even if it makes no sense to anyone else, all is right with the world.

In this case, the logical progression was food avatars.  In another, it might be a book sorting system or idea about which routes are good to take over others.  It's just another application of an algorithm I use to make choices.

tl;dr: More symbolism.

SMOL, doodabuddy?  But yeah, they should be bringing up ExKirby over there instead.  Or hell, Webadict does it too, sometimes.  And Org.... no, I guess it's actually somewhat common.

It's used quite a bit.  So far not by scum.  However, I HAVE seen scum use it in Chat Mafia.  As such I always deem it a Null Tell.

Talk of past games mostly.  SMOL = Systemanticaly Make Others Lose, a an odd but interesting game. 

Voting for yourself is typically not a good action to do whether you are town or scum.  There are, as always, exceptions to this. 

Why it's being brought up?  In another game that's currently running (Beginner's Mafia 6), the matter was brought up with ToonyMan's name involved.  Thus it got mentioned over here.

Hey, Cobrarsenic is the only example I can think of where scum did it.  And since he was a one shot unlynchable/ untouchable/ whatever that probably doesn't really count.

I suppose you could try and convince town that you are a jester, although I've never seen this actually work.
