The Summoner: A CYOA
« on: December 06, 2009, 11:27:55 am »

You are suddenly ripped from your surroundings. You see a bright light.

You go towards it.

As you reach to touch it, a terrible pain fills your mind and everything goes black.

You awaken.

It chitters at you suspiciously for a bit before producing a crystal of some sort.

"I did not summon you. From when and where in the Great Beyond do you come from, demon?"

It, whatever it is, wants an answer and it wants it now. Think fast.

I was going to make something up, but given that someone else showed good taste I may as well do the same, B.

You tell it that you are an Achaean solider who was, up untill just now, doing battle at the walls of Troy. The thing chitters to itself some more.

You still have your armour and your spear, but your shield is gone.

The beast speaks once more, still chittery, but in reletively clear greek:

"You are not what I summoned, but you will do. You will hunt down the Warlord-"

The abomination suddenly makes a horrible screeching noise. It takes you a few seconds to realize that that is a name.

"You will hunt him down and kill him, by any means possible. Return with proof of his death. Do this, and I shall return you to your world, if such is your wish."

>"Alas, the battle is still fought, and still to be won. It shall likely not have stopped simply for my visit here, be it Olympus or the realm of Hades. Will my absence affect the war's tide? To my kin, shall I have disappeared in the blink of an eye or  be missing for many a day, prehaps more? And what of my dearest wife? Will she be safe without my watching eye and guarding hand?"

EDIT: Typos.
