Or the ability to find stuff in the series of tubes. This is thread for people who just can't find that one thing from ages ago.

To start it off, somewhere last year there was a discovery science comercial (not the boom de adah one.) about how you should keep on questioning, I thought it was pretty nice, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, does anyone have a youtube link?

This could be it, although not Discovery Science.
There was an uncanny number of links to something about Singapore. I also found another Discovery Channel commercial that could very well rival the I Love The World one.

Holy damn do they make good ones.

Now my quest: I remember back when I was reading up on the newer Adventure Quest team projects(Shuddap, don't judge me) Artix posted a quote from the wall of a monastery about those who taught us the lessons of our life, and how grateful we are. I would like to see this, because it appears he deleted it or something.

I was trying to look up Google's policy regarding buying and absorbing other companies like Etherpad. I found a startling number of references to Cthulhu and Satan.  :P

Google doesn't buy, they make.

They're a bunch of passionate scientists, with good philosophies.

Microsoft is a bunch of layers, with scientists laboring to produce copy-writable material. Philosophies are much more "corporate."

I guess this list of companies means nothing to you?

When can Google and especially Microsoft be considered a monopoly?

I don't resent Google for it, in fact most of the time when they buy something they improve upon it and listen to the community's suggestions. I've only been a little worried about the recent acquisition of Etherpad, though, because Google Wave isn't the same tool, it's hardly even in the same market. However, Google pulled through and brought back Etherpad, albeit for a questionable amount of time, so I guess it's all right now.

EDIT: Maybe I was too harsh in my first post. What I meant to say, was that it was uncharacteristically UN-Google. (Jesus that's a tongue twister) As illustrated by Wolfire blog:

Google generally doesn't act like that. :0

So this has changed to a Google thread and not a Google-fu thread?

I would call it more of a corporate neutral doing myself.

People want stuff, but view monopolies as bad.

They view monopolies as money-oriented, buying anybody who would commit themselves to making something great.

It's kind of annoying that people view any sort of move to expand as some sort of corporate evil-doing.

Large corporations have repeatedly shown an utter disregard for humanity. Perhaps people are a little tired of being (legally) bent over the table by faceless conglomerates and view such rabid capitalism with suspicion.
