I've uploaded the latest maps. Warning, quite a lot of graphics. Ok, slightly less than a MB.

It's come along quite well for only 2 years in.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

6th of Malachite, 203.
So, I was talking to Deinol today, and...

No WONDER he gave me this job! I'm so happy!

Who can resist a dwarf who tunnels through granite with his bare hands?

You'll have to keep an eye on things to see if we have children in the future.

Oh no! It occurs to me that I forgot to set my profession to Retired Ruler! Someone be a dear and do it for me? :3

Is that a magma pool or a vent?
If there is a way to tell I don't know it yet.

It's a vent, it goes all the way to the bottom level. You can't quite tell on that map, but pools are generally much wider.

As I start out my rule it occurs to me that nobody wants to plant the Plump Helmet seeds. It's not a problem right now as we have plenty of meals and drink, but I put one of our planters, Kadol, on full-time farming so that this does not become an issue later on.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Shortly afterward, around 14th Granite, the elves show up. GO BACK TO BROOKLYN or wherever the hell you tree huggers are from. Someplace called Cana Cara it seems. Stupid name. Boltnarrows is a much better name. I'll allow them in to see what they have to trade...

.......lolwut?

I buy up all their wood, then tell them I'm going to use it to make charcoal. They don't seem to care all that much.

Anywho, some time later our chained up stray dog takes a bite out of a passing kobold thief and gets...rewarded...for his troubles:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Yea he's not going anywhere. I issue a new dog to replace him, and our first military man to chase the thief.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Unfortunately, Krigus gets away before our guy can kill him. Ah well. Mr. Military dude wants to be called dermonster because...well, he doesn't really explain it. Eh, why not?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Looking around the place I realize I don't know shizznit about this long tunnel. I presume it's for the magma, but I don't know where it goes or why it's going there. I have spotted what looks like a forge area. Maybe I can at least attempt to get THAT operational. This girl staring DIRECTLY at me makes it difficult to concentrate:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Suddenly, scouts report that everything has gone...rather a tad blue...

(I saved before the blue screen was induced, but I don't know how much progress I lost there. Either way, BURN THE WITCH! IT'S HER FAULT! :\)

I assure you the blue screen is very real. I'll put a sticky note next to it next time it happens or something.

Also due to an unrelated incident I am left without internet at my home, and can't upload DF pics/saves until it is resolved. Absolutely no clue how long this will take, therefore my turn can be skipped. (The constant blue screens aren't helping either. Everytime I think "Oh hey, I'm going to get a blue screen soon, better save..." it happens before I can open the menu. Then I proceed to flip the computer off and restart it.)
