There ... isn't really a still around. And brewing / winemaking takes more than four days. If you guys want I can look that stuff up but in my limited experience you're going to be spending weeks to months waiting for the mash to ferment. Not that it'll take that much labor. But it's not instantaneous.

EDIT: It sounds like the following:

Pillow_Killer: 3 days hunting, set something brewing, get moving again
Rooster: 1 day hunting, then move at Steady until the exhausted asses heal, then Strenuous for the rest
mainiac: hunt 3 days, grueling 3 days (rations at meager during grueling pace, Filling if health drops)
Haika: hunt 3 days, grueling 3 days
Myrock: continue at Strenuous
Kashyyk: hunt 2 days then travel strenuous (stop hunting at 80 bolts)
testefan: hunt 2 days then strenuous

Because it's getting more complicated I'll post a sort of compromise schedule for the caravan's turn. From the above I see two wildly different strategies though, and a compromise would just fail both.

No advice from me!

If your plans don't come closer the compromise will probably be:
Hunt 1 day, hunt 1 more day if the asses aren't healed, then Grueling until someone would be pushing exhausted asses (stop and hunt a day if that's the case).

Of course Ukat has exactly zero booze so he might get hurt on Grueling.

Nah, I think we're going fine. Continue as it is at strenous!

Crap, wasn't thinking about booze.  Increase meals to Filling to compensate as soon as health drops below good.

I vote we stick around for two days hunting, then move out again on strenuous.

Also, I keep hunting until I drop to 80 bolts.

Yeah, there will be time for more hunting later.  2 days right now is probably plenty.  I vote we split the days up however.

I suppose I'm in no hurry, so I can live with:

hunt 1 day, strenuous 2 day, hunt 1 day, strenuous 2 days.

You spend a day hunting to give the asses a rest and fill up on food. Everyone has a crossbow, so everyone goes hunting.

That first day, one of Tylui's exhausted asses gets better, frolicking around and biting the others. The other three are still moping around, swishing their tails and spitting everywhere. Rooster has Dysentery!

Spoiler: Hunting Day 1 (click to show/hide)

Then you move out at Grueling for a day. The caravan travels 40 miles across the plains, tearing up the prairie in a desperate attempt to make up for lost time.

Spoiler: Grueling Day 2 (click to show/hide)

Along the way, a Kobold Thief drinks from a barrel strapped to the side of Rooster's wagon, then runs off. Stole 4 Booze!

At this point, Grimpull has two asses, both pulling his wagon, and one is exhausted. If you continue at Grueling there's a chance that ass will drop dead. His broken arm still hasn't healed.

So you stop for your second hunting period.

Spoiler: Hunting Day 3 (click to show/hide)

During the hunting trip Rooster is attacked by a Wild Ass! It rushes past screaming obscenities in Assish, narrowly missing Rooster's forehead. Rooster takes a potshot as the Wild Ass flees but it ricochets off a bouler.

Day 4
Because everyone has enough healthy asses to keep moving without using an Exhausted ass, you decide to, at Strenuous this time.

The next day your trail becomes extremely rough and muddy. Tylui, McSurgeon, and Rooster each have one ass go lame (effectively Exhausted). Rooster's ass was fresh but the other two asses were already Exhausted, so no extra effect on those.
All the wagons got through the muck without breaking.

That day you travel 30 miles.

Day 5
This morning you wake to find a Kobold Thief has come through and stolen 1 Clothing from Ukat. Evidently Ukat sleeps in the nude or this is an exceptional thief, as that was Ukat's only clothing.

No change in ass status today, you get 30 miles.

Day 6

Later Urist McCheapass discovers that wild mushrooms were growing in the back of his wagon! He finds 8 rations of wild fruit!

The caravan moves another 30 miles.

These are the caravan's stats at the beginning of Turn 2. Map updated in the original post in a moment.

I vote for: hunt 1 day, strenuous 2 day, hunt 1 day, strenuous 2 days.

Meanwhile, I'd like to try my hand at crafting if I can. I made room on my wagon to sit as we go, would be nice to be able to work some of the mats we have stockpiled.

This leads me to questions. Can non crafters craft? Maybe with a penalty? And do Bones/Hides have a weight/space need? Will we be able to sell them at outposts? If so how much are raw mats worth?

The 1-2 alternation seems pretty good, so I agree with Haika.

I gotta hand it to that kobald, he has talent.  Common sense, not so much.  But talent galore.

Would anyone be willing to trade a set of clothing for 50 food?  It's not decent for Ukat to be nekid.

I might. But later. I think we should go steady one day, for three, steady for one, and then grueling on the last, unless, anyone gets injured, in which case, that should be a hunting day.

Because I don't want to do the bookkeeping right now. Lazy.

Also, I totally knew I should be doctor. You can thank me later.

Nope, that was tossed in as a special ability for the lower-end jobs. In the original Oregon Trail most jobs didn't do anything.

And do Bones/Hides have a weight/space need?
1 each, as they are items. It's counted in to the above Turn 2 summary.

Quote from: Haika

Sure, I'd say they're worth half what their product is worth. Unless you come across someone who really wants hides or bones.

Hey, it's not like YOU have to do any bookkeeping! :P
