Tylui recovered on Day 2 and Rooster on Day 4.

With no need to wait at the river you decide to cross on Day 4. You caulk the wagons and float them across.

Every wagon gets across safely.

You continue traveling 20 more miles on Day 4.

Map update in a moment.

How deep is medium?

But anyway, I'm not really fussed what you guys do, although I'd suggest you don't caulk the wagons. Being a major river they will probably float away.

Well on Medium the wheels will still touch bottom. If you ford a Deep river you'll be sort of floating across underwater, which is understandably rather dangerous. Most of the failure chance is because the wagon tips over and things get damaged or lost, rather than that water gets in.

I can't really give you my numbers because then you'll always know the best choice between ford or float. But common sense should get you through.

Floating away intact I think is better than being stuck in the bottom, or tipping over and losing items.

My vote is float again, with a day of searching the riverbank downstream if we lose any. After that I vote push on for 3 days of steady travel, then a rest/hunting day, and the final steady travelday.

I also vote now for the southern path, as the northern route just seems more difficult at this point. (I also need to buy more ass. XD)

Why Steady when we can go strenuous?

I'd prefer not to lose any more asses at this point. My ass is very precious to me. >.>

Once I can get some backups after the human settlement comming up, I'm all for pushing harder.

That said, what sort of weather season are we in? Should think about not being in those mountains ahead in winter.

Float, then go grueling unless something happens to the wagons while floating.

Is it possible to work while riding an ass (hehe) like when in a wagon? If so I'll be making bolts out of the bone I have.

It may be possible to work while riding, if your 20 units of weight are on the ass. However, Leo stated that dwarfs with professions who are not crafters, cannot craft.

I wanted to try and make more bolts myself a couple turns back. No dice.

It appears we don't have any crafters...

Oh well, just have to sell my materials for the finished product then.

Everyone else seems to think floating will get us across. I guess it wouldn't be too bad to spend a day searching for a lost wagon on the other side. I'd rather do that than to see our trinkets spilled and lost.

Sorry about the no posting.  Been on the human trail lately.  I vote for another ford then heading on along the southern route.
