Crossbow Fire Speed?
« on: December 03, 2009, 11:51:58 am »

Is crossbow fire speed hardcoded? It seems like it fires slower than melee attacks. I want to mod in a minigun, and i cant seem to make it fire faster than the default crossbow.

Help?

It's hard coded in the current version. Just train the crossbow dwarf up to champion level. It'll be about as fast as a minigun.

I decided to switch one of my nigh-omnipotent champions to crossbows.
He goes through a stack of 25 in a few seconds. Perfectly Agile+ and Legendary+ giving an exceedingly high rate of fire.
Although it actually means he wastes bolts as it only takes 2-3 to kill something, and he has time to fire about 14 at it before it dies.

Give him training bolts! Even if his bolts are made out of stone, if he fires some 14, why not make more of them count, and not waste valuable metal ones?
