Meeting with jailed dwarf
« on: December 03, 2009, 12:28:53 am »

Long story short, my potash maker Tun got jailed for going on a well deserved tantrum (her pet died, her friend died, and some other stuff). She tried to designate a meeting with the Mayor while in jail (job status is Attend Meeting). My Mayor finally got around to Conducting the meeting, but he is waiting in his office while the jailed dwarf is waiting in her cell. Both have the meeting status; are they actually meeting, or is each of them waiting for the other? What can I do about this?

I tried searching for this exact problem but I didn't have any luck. The title screen says 0.28.181.40d16.

The bug list has one that looks like it matches:

# 000653 □ [dwarf mode][nobles]   (Report) after engraver was dragged to jail during meeting, mayor and engraver were stuck with meeting text

Here's the thread where that bug was reported.  Definitely sounds like yours.  I don't know you'd go about working around it, but you could try catching one or both of them in a cave-in (cave-in dust knocks dwarves unconscious, which might reset their job).

You might also try drafting either (or both) of them into the military for a moment - that's known to cancel various jobs, including "On Break", though it will cause an unhappy thought if they don't have any military skills.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
